Ava did not know what Alpha Dane was talking about. She noticed the men were leaving the area quietly. She felt their gaze at her while whispering to each other, “Important to our pack? Never seen her around Alpha before.”

Everyone left, except for Ava and three men in the area.

Ava looked directly into Alpha’s eyes and asked,

“What do you want from me?”

Griffin’s grip loosened around my hand. He rushed over to the beta, who had just gotten up after grabbing the gun from his Alpha.

Ava was too shocked to react because everything happened so quickly.

“Beta Bruno, don’t shoot,” Griffin said, holding Bruno’s hand, which was pointing the gun at Ava.

Ava’s breath hitched, feeling a fear of death.

Alpha Dane was sitting on the couch, calmly and composed as if he were watching a show.

“How dare she speak to him in such a manner? Does she have any idea who is seated in front of her?”

Ava listened to Beta Bruno, but her eyes were on Alpha Dane.

For some reason, she began to feel hatred for him.

She knew he was the Alpha of this pack. But wasn’t it his father who destroyed her pack? Wasn’t it his father’s men who attacked her father and killed him?

Now did he plan to kill her?

She still could not forget how helpless her father was. She wanted to save him, but neither she nor her mother could help.

“I know who he is,” she muttered.

Dane could see the hatred in her eyes. He shifted his gaze from her and looked at his beta.

“Bruno, calm down.”

“But Alpha, look at this girl’s audacity. After fleeing away from this pack, she still had the courage to look directly into your eyes.

Griffin lowered his head as if what Bruno was saying was right.

Ava was confused about the whole situation.

“Why wouldn’t I flee? I was a kid at the time. My mother took me away to protect me. In a deadly situation in a war, even an Alpha can run away to save his own life, then can’t I? It’s not a crime.”

Her loud voice made Alpha Dane’s eyes darken. Both Bruno and Griffin glanced at him as if trying to see if he would take a step against her.

“Ava, don’t speak like that. Bow your head and say sorry to him,” Griffin said to her.

Ava shook her head. “Never. I will never bow to him. He is not my Alpha. I am not his pack member.”

Griffin walked toward her and said,

“He is our Alpha. He is the head Alpha of this pack. We have to bow to him. You have no choice. He will kill you if you don’t do that.”

His tone was persuasive, but Ava was stubborn. She would not bow to him.

Beta Bruno handed the gun to Alpha Dane and dashed towards Ava He grabbed her arm and pulled her toward the couches.

Ava screamed when she felt the tight grip.

Beta Bruno kicked her one leg from behind, causing her to fall to her knees.

With a scream of pain, she fell on her knees in front of Alpha Dane.

Ava realized how cruel this Alpha and his men were. If his Beta was doing this to her, what would this Alpha do to her?

She was startled from inside.

She had heard about his ruthlessness from others before. Now she knew why Ian and his friends hated this man. He deserved their hatred.

“Your father destroyed my pack and killed my dad,” she mumbled

“You canceled your flight hearing her nonsense? Really?” Beta Bruno said to Dane with a disappointed voice

Ava lowered her head, tears streaming out of her eyes. She felt that she did wrong to escape from the Mystic Shadow Pack.

Dane looked at Bruno and Griffin and then said,

“Leave,”

Ava immediately raised her head to look at Alpha Dane. She thought he was talking to her. But when she saw Bruno and Griffin leaving, she felt her heart start to beat faster in fear.

“W–Where are you going? Didn’t you say I am your sister?” Ava said to Griffin while looking at him leaving:

She tried to stand up and run away because she was afraid to be alone with Alpha.

But she fell on the floor once again. Her leg was hurt. She hissed in pain.

She glanced at Alpha Dane, who was staring at her without saying anything.

His dark gaze started to make her feel frightened of him.

She lowered her head, considering how to get away from this pack.

After a few minutes of silence,

Alpha Dane spoke up,

“You were right when you said my father destroyed your pack.”

Ava tightened her fists, recalling a nightmare in which she saw her father die.

“But you were wrong when you said my father killed your dad.“”

She slowly raised her head to gaze at him. He looked into her eyes directly.

“I guess your mom never told you the truth. You still belong to this pack. You don’t have to fear that anyone will cage you.”
