Wiona spoke quietly into the silence. “I heard it was because of his background… that he was from a family that were sworn enemies of the Blues?”

“But we don't know the specifics of the feud. I only heard that after my aunt fell in love with him in Eastern Europe, they came back together intending to discuss their marriage with the family elders. It was only when they talked about his identity that his family history came to light.”

“Grandma and Grandpa threw him out on the spot.”

“I’m not sure what happened after that, but my aunt was locked up at home and forbidden from going out. The whole family was on high alert. I think… they were even preparing to terminate her pregnancy.”
