After making sure everything was settled with the nannies at home, Wiona finally stepped out of the house again.
Her first stop was Cassian K. ART.
“Sorry I haven’t been around lately. Is everyone doing okay?”
The whole team was instantly buzzing as soon as she walked in.
“Wiona!”
“You’re finally back!”
“What happened? You just vanished! People online were saying W disappeared again. We were all worried sick about you.”
Wiona looked at them, feeling a real pang of guilt.
“I thought I posted in the group chat that something happened with my kids at home. Everything’s fine now, so here I am.”
“I’m really sorry for making everyone worry.”
She pressed her palms together, her apology coming straight from the heart.
Ever since she’d taken over Cassian K. ART, she’d been buried in preparations for the art exhibition. Now that it was finally over, the studio still hadn’t really turned around.
As the new owner, carrying the responsibility Cassian had trusted her with, she couldn’t help but feel like she hadn’t even started.
But this time, Wiona was ready.
“Alright, folks. We’ve got a big project on our hands.”
“So I need everyone to give it their all.”
She cleared her throat, then smiled. “I want Cassian K. ART to handle the complete design for all the porcelain and glassware at my wedding. From start to finish. And we’ll need to make… at least five thousand sets.”
Everyone froze. “Wait, how many?”
They couldn’t believe it.
Five thousand sets?
Not five hundred. Five thousand.
Was she really inviting five thousand guests?
Wiona had never been the type to exaggerate, so after a few seconds of shock, excitement exploded through the room.
“Wiona, congratulations! You’re getting married!”
“Only you would make our first huge order come from the boss herself. Are you trying to make us rich or bankrupt?”
“Haha, whatever happens, at least we finally have work. We’re saved!”
“Oh my gosh, pinch me. Is this even real?”
Wiona clapped her hands, pulling everyone back in. “Wait, I’m not done with the details.”
“Some of the porcelain and glassware will be used at the wedding, and some will be for the guests to take home as gifts. I plan to be involved with the design myself, and I’ll even make the very first set.”
“I have another request. I want these gifts to be absolutely unique. No one else in the world can have anything like them. They mean a lot to me and my husband.”
“So, Nico, Lance, Sammy, Tom, I really need your help. I want you to give this everything you’ve got.”
But Wiona didn’t go straight back to the manor. Instead, she asked Nikolai to take her to the hospital.
She’d heard Wilson had been awake for ten days now.
He was no longer in ICU, but in a private room.
Bronwen’s injuries were actually even worse than his.
Wilson had burns on half his body, but because of quick medical care, he’d survived.
Still, Wiona had heard that half his face was destroyed.
The face that used to be so handsome and charming, the one that could make any girl fall hopelessly in love with him, was now half a skeleton’s mask.
Even if the skin grafts worked, Wilson would never again be that smooth-talking heartbreaker. Now, he’d be someone everyone would stare at, someone people would fear.
He’d lost what he’d always been most proud of, the thing that gave him his confidence, the face he’d built his whole life around.
And once he was healed, he’d still have to face the law and a life sentence.
At the hospital, Dr. Rodman made the arrangements so Wiona could go straight to Wilson’s room.
He was struggling to drink soup through a straw.
As soon as she walked in, the nurse stood up and quietly left the room.
Wilson saw her and let out a strangled scream.
His whole body started shaking with fear. “You… What are you doing here?”
