Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 687

After the fever finally broke, a faint rash popped up on his skin. Wiona’s heart nearly stopped when she saw it, but Tatum and Madison both let out a breath of relief.

“This is great news. Derek’s going to be just fine.”

“Don’t worry, Wiona. The rash means the toxins are completely out of his system now. You can relax.”

Wiona could hardly contain herself. She scooped Derek up and peppered his face with kisses.

“Oh, sweetheart, you’re safe. You’re really okay.”

Derek’s energy came rushing back. He was kicking his little arms and legs even harder than Kane, full of life again. Watching him like that, Wiona felt her chest fill with joy and pride.

“You made it through, baby. From now on, everything’s going to go your way.”

She squeezed Kane’s hand too, overwhelmed with relief that only Derek had been targeted. Kane had escaped unharmed. She didn’t even want to imagine what she would have done if both her boys had gotten sick.

Conrad had been at home for three days straight, barely leaving her side. He leaned over now to wrap his arm around Wiona’s shoulders, joining her in playing with their two sons. Madison and Tatum watched the little family for a moment, then quietly slipped out.

Later, when Wiona and Conrad stepped out of the nursery, Madison and Tatum were getting ready to leave.

“Call me if you need anything, okay?” Madison said. “And don’t carry everything by yourself. You have someone to lean on. Mr. Sullivan’s pretty reliable, you know. And look at you—you’ve lost so much weight in just a few days. Now that the worst is over, don’t get stuck in that dark place. I worry about your mental health. Mr. Sullivan, you’d better make sure my sister eats. Next time I see her, I want to see some meat on her cheeks. I’m serious.”

Conrad gave her a warm smile. “Yes, Ms. Morgan. I promise.”

Tatum looked like he wanted to say something, hesitated, then finally turned to Wiona. “I’ll come by every ten days from now on. As long as I’m in Stonehill, I’ll check in on them. Give them a massage, do a checkup—whatever I can do.”

Wiona lit up. She clasped his hand tight. “Thank you, Tatum. Really.”

The last few days had been rough on her too. If Wiona wasn’t hovering over the twins herself, Annette was right there, filling in. At this point, Wiona only trusted herself, Conrad, and Annette to look after the babies. Annette didn’t dare complain. She just kept pushing through, always on call, even though she’d never done anything like this in her life.

She’d been pampered for more than fifty years, born into money, married into it, never having to lift a finger around the house. She couldn’t cook a single meal, let alone care for infants. Watching them was one thing, but changing diapers and feeding them? That was all new. She had never even changed Conrad’s diaper as a baby. Now, as a grandmother, she was learning everything from scratch. It was exhausting, but she just had to tough it out. She knew Wiona was truly scared, and that made it impossible to say no.

Annette left the room, her face tired but determined.

Conrad took Wiona’s hand and guided her to sit down beside him.

“Wiona, what about the gallery? Are you just leaving it for now? I heard Wilson is awake. Weren’t you going to the hospital to talk to him about your mom? And what about our wedding? Don’t you want to have one anymore? I set up a meeting with the dress designer. When do you want to go?”

His voice was gentle, his hands warm around hers. He was still thinking about earlier—about how she’d grabbed Tatum’s hand, and how Tatum’s ears had turned pink. It bothered Conrad more than he wanted to admit. Even if Tatum was just her cousin, Conrad still felt a twinge of jealousy.

He picked up a clean wipe and gently cleaned Wiona’s hands, his movements careful and deliberate. Wiona hardly noticed, her mind racing with everything Conrad had just mentioned. Suddenly, she felt the urgency settle in her chest.
