“I think it’s some kind of robotics company,” Madison said, swirling her drink. “Or maybe something digital. Anyway, it’s definitely a tech business.”
“The campus they built is massive. Honestly, it’s even fancier than the Morgan Group headquarters.”
“My brother is a genius when it comes to business. From what I heard, he started every single branch company himself. All from scratch.”
Wiona couldn’t help but be a little surprised.
The Morgan family had always stuck to manufacturing. Sure, companies branched out sometimes, but this was a huge leap. Why would they suddenly jump headfirst into a completely different industry?
Was the Morgan family thinking of switching lanes altogether?
She felt a little skeptical and decided not to go see the Morgan family just yet.
Because today, her art exhibition was open again.
Inside the gallery, she could feel people’s eyes on her. No matter how she tried to ignore them, they shadowed her every move, always watching but never getting too close. Their attention never wavered.
They listened to her talk about the paintings, heard her share the stories behind her work, and caught every detail she broke down about her art. She knew they were watching how her face lit up when she got lost in her passion.
Wiona glanced over and recognized them right away. Weren’t these the same guys from the Simpsons’ house?
That day, they worked together so smoothly, so fast and in sync. Wiona remembered them clearly. They were the ones who had saved Nikolai and Drake.
She forced herself to ignore her curiosity and sped up her usual routine, welcoming guests with extra energy.
As soon as the first wave of visitors was done, she hurried upstairs.
The heat outside made the second floor way more comfortable for entertaining.
Wiona sat down and brewed tea herself. Soon, Molly brought Tatum, his four brothers, and Madison up to join her.
Wiona stood up quickly.
“Please, everyone, have a seat.”
She gestured for them to sit, and Madison took Molly to the other side to help set out fruit and snacks.
The Blue family brothers came over, each finding their spot at the table. They watched Wiona with open curiosity, not even trying to hide it.
Wiona felt herself getting a little shy under their gaze.
“Hi… I didn’t think we’d run into each other again so soon,” she said, her smile a little nervous.
She’d been impressed by them when she saw them in action at the Simpsons’. Back then, it never crossed her mind that they could actually be related.
“Wiona, we’re so glad you’re our family.” Mateo, Tyler, Tatum, Ryan, and Dawson all spoke up at once, practically in chorus.
“It’s good to finally meet you for real.”
Wiona stared at them in surprise.
“But what if I’m not your family?” she asked, glancing at the still-sealed DNA report on the table. “We don’t have the results yet.”
Her heart thudded with nerves. She wanted it to be true. If it was, she’d finally have answers about her mom, about who she really was. But if it wasn’t… what if this was just a big coincidence, all of this excitement for nothing? Either way, she’d braced herself. It was time to find out.
