Jace, seriously? Did he forget what today’s all about, with a thousand people watching? Why did he have to stir things up now, of all times? Like the Salisbury family didn’t have enough drama already. Did he really need to add more fuel to the fire?
Daniel shot Kellen a look that said everything. “Why are you just standing there? Do you want this wedding to go on or not?” He turned to the aide next to him. “Get her out of here, now.”
Daniel was sure this was just another one of Bianca’s stunts. He was so angry, he could hardly stand it.
Under Daniel’s glare, Kellen stiffened her back and stepped up, grabbing Jace’s arm. “Jace, are we getting married or not?”
“What do you want from me?”
“Do you want me to get on my knees and beg you?”
“Can’t we handle this later?”
“Jace, please, let’s just get married first. This is my one and only wedding…”
“Jace!”
Bianca looked up sharply, her eyes icy as she glared at Kellen.
“You really think you’re good enough to be my sister-in-law?”
Kellen’s face twisted with anger. “Bianca!”
“You’re being ridiculous.”
“You set this up just to ruin my wedding, didn’t you?”
“What did I ever do to you?”
“Why are you doing this, showing up at my wedding, crying and causing a scene? Can’t you just stop making things ugly?”
Kellen’s words came out with tears streaking down her face. Playing the victim? Acting helpless and innocent? She had mastered that move ages ago. That’s how she’d gotten Jace to fall for her in the first place. There was no way she’d lose to someone as clueless as Bianca now.
Not far away, Wiona nearly let out a laugh. This was exactly what she wanted to see—a real showdown.
Bianca was Jace’s little sister, spoiled since birth, always proud and a bit out of control. Not the brightest, but she knew how to make a scene. Kellen, on the other hand, was the queen of acting sweet and innocent, always knowing how to get a guy to take her side.
Today, it was a battle to see which of them could win Jace over.
Conrad, standing beside Wiona, hardly glanced at the stage. His focus was completely on her. He saw the little smile tugging at her lips and leaned in, speaking softly. “So, what kind of trap did you set for them?”
“Did you bring that person here?”
Wiona’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “Of course. You have no idea how perfect this is.”
