Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 567

Everyone’s attention snapped to the giant crate that had suddenly crashed the wedding. The hall erupted with whispers and gasps, the excitement spreading like wildfire. Even Jace, who was just about to slip a ring onto Kellen’s finger, felt a chill run down his spine. His instincts screamed at him that nothing good could come from this. He frowned hard, his voice sharp and impatient. “What is that? Who let this thing in here? Get it out, now! Can’t you see what’s going on?”

But the rush of adrenaline hit him too hard, and suddenly his ears buzzed. He grabbed his head, squeezing his eyes shut as flashes of memories darted through his mind.

A wedding. A veil. Flower petals falling everywhere. Rings exchanged. A soft kiss on the cheek after the ceremony… And then, a face. It flickered in and out. Sometimes gentle, sometimes angry, sometimes hurt, with eyes rimmed red. Those eyes… those lips… The way she came alive when she was yelling at him. The way her eyes burned when she was upset. The pull of her smile, the softness in every look.

Jace jerked his head up, but the images slipped away. Still, something had clicked. He remembered. The face that kept haunting his memories wasn’t Kellen, his true love. It was Wiona.

His head whipped around, searching the crowd for the shadow of her voice. Was it really her? Why was she so deep in his heart? Why? Did he… had he actually cared about Wiona, his ex-wife, all along?

“Jace!”

“Jace?”

“Jace, are you okay?”

Kellen’s anxious voice snapped him back to reality. Jace blinked at the sea of faces in the grand hall, his vision swimming. Before he could answer, Daniel stepped forward, his patience gone. “Get this crate out of here right now!”

But none of the waiters moved. The crate was surrounded by eight bodyguards in black suits, and nobody wanted to mess with them. They were just hotel staff, not the Salisbury family’s servants. Why should they risk it?

The waiters stood frozen. Daniel’s expression darkened. He rolled up his sleeves, ready to handle it himself. No way was he letting anything ruin this wedding. If something went wrong today, the Salisbury family would be the laughingstock of Stonehill.

Just then, Isaac rushed over. He put a calming hand on Daniel’s arm. “Dad, let’s do it together. Everyone, since this is apparently a wedding gift for my brother and sister-in-law, how about we let them open it backstage after the ceremony? No need to spoil the surprise for everyone, right?”

With just a few words, Isaac diffused the tension in the room. Jace didn’t really want to accept his help, but he couldn’t deny Isaac had stepped in for him, so he just nodded, tight-lipped.

Daniel patted Isaac on the shoulder, actually looking proud for once. Thank goodness his second son was so level-headed and clever, unlike Jace. Isaac had never let him down in moments like these.
