Chapter 0185 

Hector POV 

“Eyes on me!” I growl just as Kaia closes the office door. 

“She seems different.” He flatly states out, as his eyes move back on to me. 

I thought it would come back to her, that the trauma he caused would trigger her memory…that she would remember. Maybe this amnesia was a gift, maybe forgetting her past is what she needed to get over all that hurt. 

“How is Alora?” 

“She’s acting Alpha of the Nightshade Reformed pack until Kaia is ready to return, if she returns.” 

“I had heard about Alora being the acting Alpha. But what do you mean by if Kaia returns?” 

“She’s my Luna, and the divorce documents mean you have no legal claim over her anymore. I’m surprised you didn’t fight harder…” 

“I’m banished remember?” He retorts, his lip curling up into a sneer. 

I watch him as he moves around my office, in no hurry to leave. 

“You marked her?” He tries to sound unbothered, but I don’t miss the tensing of his jaw. 

“Kaia and I are not your concern..” 

“When did you mark her?” 

“At her pack, after her accident.” 

“So you marked her without her consent?” He has the nerve to growl with his delivery of selected words. 

“Really? You want to talk about consent?” I push up off the desk effortlessly, my palms resting on it which is a good thing, it stops me from throttling him. 

“I just think it’s funny how I’ve be painted as a villain, lost my mate and you have yours sitting on your lap.. yet we did the same thing.” 

“And what was that Than?” 

“We both gave into the pull of the bond. Perhaps we aren’t so different Brother.” 

I travel the length of my office to him in one swift movement. 

He sees me coming, pushing me off him…using my own weight against me. I reach for him, pulling his shoulder almost out of its own socket as I swing him and throw him into the wall. 

My elbow lodges itself into his throat, momentarily causing him to suffocate until I release my hold against him. 

“Let me make this crystal clear for you…you and I may be related but we are not brothers. I marked Kaia to save her life, she was dying in my arms.” 

I lower my voice knowing she was only outside in the kitchen, she shouldn’t be able to hear but I didn’t

“What I did wasn’t based on my own desires, on my need to control someone, to abuse her. You and I are nothing alike. Hell has a special place for you.” 

“You tell yourself that brother if it gives you comfort.” There’s a hint of amusement on his face. 

“Listen carefully you piece of shit. I’ve made mistakes. A day doesn’t go bye where I don’t think of the pain I caused her, the anquish I caused both of them. I marked my mate to save her, to bring her back.” Everyday I have had to rebuild her trust in me, fight for us. 

Yes I marked her without her consent but to let her die. I would never have been able to mark her, I would never have been able to bring her back…to repair the bond between us. 

I made that choice in the moment and I stand by my choice..and would make the same choice today. 

I would always put her life first, even if it meant consequently sacrificing my soul to the darkest depths of hell. 

If I need to be tortured their for eternity with Than next to me, then so be it. That was the difference, that is why we aren’t brothers. 

Because I know my mistakes, I’ll admit them. But he still thinks what he did was just give into the bond, that the bond protects him as a form of immunity. He’ll believe until his bitter end that he is rising up, when he will be rising down.
