Kaia POV 

I’ve never seen this side to Hector before, this level of possessiveness. 

It had been there from the moment I woke up out of my coma, his command preventing me from being away from him or his pack…which although annoying I could live with. No matter how much it infuriated

But this was different, his temper had exploded and for once I felt the need to soothe him, that pull to him to calm his anger. 

This was my fault, I shouldn’t have met with Samson alone. 

Hector had always been understanding of my denying of the mate bond, in fact I think he took some pleasure in it. He certainly seemed to enjoy testing me last night in the kitchen but this was different. 

This was a step too far, even for him. 

This was something else, this was full raging red, burning flames of anger towards Samson. 

Trealise I have messed up. 

I was starting to realise that Hector knew Samson, that they most likely locked horns from the word go. 

“Take him to the cells.” He roars, his command like heavy drums as they shake me to my core. Samson smugly wipes the blood away from the corner of his mouth by the back of his hand. 

For a human hybrid, Hector terrified even me. I could almost see the steam coming off him as his body ‘trembled with rage. 

My wolf comes forward feeling the gravitational pull to calm him, wanting to calm him…to touch him. 

“Hector.” I take a step towards him, reaching my hand out to touch him, to calm him. 

“You deliberately put my pack in danger.” He scolds at me through gritted teeth. 

“How so?” 

“By putting yourself in danger. They will defend you until the death Kaia. You are their Luna, why can’t you fucking see that.” He roars at me. 

“He said he was my beta.” I quietly respond, suddenly embarrassed by my actions. 

“We’ll discuss this later.” He cuts me off curtly before taking in the horror of the room. 

A feeling of guilt hits me as my eyes cast around the room also, broken glass, a warrior bleeding and passed out on the floor…my own blood permeating the room. 

I look at my hands that were still covered in Riley’s blood and I could feel the sharpness of the broken glass digging deeper into the soles of my feet. 

It looked like a horror scene and I understand why he is so angry. This was quite a scene to return to. Especially not knowing the context of what happened.

“Hector…” 

“Kaia, don’t start..” Hector seethes at me for giving an opposite command. 

“He didn’t know about my amnesia, just…let me talk to him..” 

“You can’t be serious?” 

“I granted him access because I thought he might have information that would help me remember…or something about my Father.” 

“Let me get this correct? One minute you deny our bond, make me feel guilty as hell for marking you without your consent…then you put my pack in danger by letting a rogue in…” 

“He said..” 

“He’s a rogue Kaia.” His face is in mine now, I was feeling the full brunt of his anger. His frustration. 

I must say, it was sexy as hell to see him this animated. Usually he was so cryptic, there was nothing cryptic about his emotions right now. He was pissed and letting me know. 

“You knowingly let a rogue on pack grounds. You refuse to accept the mate bond, refusing to accept the pack bond… only to then use it when it suits you.” 

“I never once have refused the pack.” 

“Each time, each time you tried to escape you were rejecting them.” His finger jabs me in the chest before pointing at Riley still unconscious on the floor. 

“Look, look at my warrior. Look at you….look at your blood. How do you think it felt, smelling your blood as soon as I enter, feeling the unease through the bond miles always. I can feel it Kaia. You may not be able to …but I can feel the bond, feel your emotions. How angry you are at me, how much you want to leave, how much you despise me…”

“I don’t despise you Hector.” I gasp out. 

I didn’t know this, I didn’t know he could feel my emotions. I assumed that because I hadn’t marked him the only thing between us was still that feel of the bond, the pull. I didn’t know he felt all of my emotions.
