Jude and I had been pressing the Alpha Marc of the Shadow Rock pack for information on this white wolf claim of his, Ho 

only granted us access to his lands this morning, having been a pain in the ass for letting us on pack lands. 

Jude had to even quote the alliance terms and conditions to him for him to grant us access. Which he is doing reluctantly. 

I’m doing my best to remain calm but this arsehole alpha is every bit as arrogant and annoying as my reports had claimed him to be. I’m surprised Jude has been able to tolerate him for so long. 

Our journey here hadn’t been the easiet…I had left Than all but dead laying at the side of the road. FLASHBACK 

“I need Kaia….” 

“Why?” 

“She can save Alora.” 

“What do you mean she can save Alora?” 

“She matches…..her blood type matches…she will be her donor.” He sneers as he wipes away blood from the corner of his mouth. Was that his plan all along…marry Kaia so that she could donate an organ. 

“I think Kaia would have noticed if she woke up an organ short…” I scoff out at him, did my Father really go along with this plan. Did he come to my pack demanding Kaia’s return only to be a donor. 

Than laughs out, as if I am missing something…which causes my wolf to take immediate action. Insulted I growl in his face, my hand now at his throat. 

“She wouldn’t wake up to notice….I would have take both kidneys.” He says it matter of factly, as if deciding which should live and which should die was easy to him. As if he were the moon goddess himself.

“She needs both kidneys to survive. Kaia is only a vessel that has been keeping my love’s future save… that is all.” 

“You disgust me.” I toss him to the ground, to join the dirt and ants that he deserves to live with. 

How was I related to this monster. 

“You know they are most likely twins, if what you say is true….that they match…then my thoughts are right. They aren’t just sisters…but identical twins. She’ll never go for it, I don’t think you know Alora at all.” | 

snarl at him. Only in Than’s world would a twin forgive him for killing their own sibling. 

Twins! That’s the strongest of bonds…Alora would never have forgiven him. 

“She would never have forgiven you.” I add.

“I don’t care, she would have been alive. She is my mate, no one knows her better than me. I even know Kala better than anyone. 

Something shifts within me, as if a wall had been knocked down…my wolf not liking the way he claims to know Kala better than anyone, better than me. My wolf pushes forward, smashing down that wall, grabbing Than by the throat and slamming him down into the bonnet of his red car. 

1 should kill you right here for what you did to her…” 

“And what did I do? Offer her a home…” He wheezes out trying to pull at my tight grasp. 

“You forced yourself on her.” 

1 did no such thing.” 

“You’ve never liked to be told no, have you Brother. So you take by force…” This was it, I could feel him struggling to breathe…just a few more moments and I’ll rid the world of him.

“Argh.” I growl out as he stabs a dagger into my upper ribs, through the rib cage…slicing through tissue and muscle…between the rib blades. My hands let him go as I reach for the dagger pulling it out and chucking it to the ground. 

I couldn’t fight the mate bond anymore, my wolf wanted his mate…” 

“Your mate was unconscious in the hospital thanks to you not letting her go, you drove her to suicide. Then, you took what you wanted from the other…destroying her also.” 

“Bullshit! We gave into the mate bond…that was all.” 

“You disgust me, stay the fuck away from Kaia.” I land a blow to his temple, knocking him to the ground. 1 END OF FLASHBACK 

I had wanted to kill him, how could he do that to Kaiause her for all those years. Make her believe he wanted a life with her, only to betray her when Alora woke up. 

No wonder she ran…she ran from me too. 

I remember the night I raced back to the Amber Desert pack to stop Alora’s ceremony. I feel so foolish now, like a dick. Kala knew all along, she knew what Than had planned for her. 

She came to my pack for protection and I stupidly thought she had landed in my lap as a gift from the moon goddess to help save Alora. 

I can’t stop thinking of what if..what if Than had traded her for Alora, I would have been sending Kala to her death
