Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 2267

Tyler didn't rush to say hello right away. Instead, he headed to the kitchen to help the chef with some cooking, all the while keeping an eye on the living room from the corner of his eye.

As he finished washing the vegetables, he noticed Athena heading upstairs alone.

Finding an excuse, Tyler followed her. He had disguised himself, wearing a wig and even changing his eye color.

For a moment, Athena didn't recognize him. It wasn't until he gently grasped her wrist and whispered in her ear.

"Athena."

Athena froze, turning in disbelief. When she saw the unfamiliar face, it took her a few seconds to process before tentatively asking, "Tyler?"

Tyler nodded, relieved there were no cameras around.

"What are you up to, staying in Marlon's villa? Do you have a plan you're not telling me about?"

Athena remained silent. She hadn't lost her memory or forgotten Tyler. It was all part of a plan she had pleaded with Murphy to help her with.

Her life’s biggest goal was to take down Marlon, to avenge Kerwin, for which she would pay any price. Just like back then, when she clung to Tyler because of a birthmark resembling Kerwin's, and because Tyler's heart was literally Kerwin's, she had stayed close for that tiny bit of solace.

Now that she knew how to exact revenge on Marlon, her connection with Tyler had temporarily slipped her mind.

She hadn't expected Tyler to seek her out, clearly going through a lot to find her.

"Athena, what are you doing? We agreed that if either of us had a plan, we'd share it. You know how dangerous Marlon is. I don’t care what you’re thinking; you need to come back with me. I promise I’ll protect you."

He held her hand, gripping it tightly.

But Athena stood her ground.

Tyler felt a wave of panic, especially seeing the calm determination in her eyes.

"Tyler, you should leave. You don't need to come looking for me anymore."

Tyler pressed his lips together, forcing a smile.

"Don't joke with me. Can you handle this alone? Athena, I've found a key person. Just give me a little more time, and I can..."

Her decision was made, and Tyler could see it. Staying would only bring him humiliation, something he was no stranger to.

Now, he worried he might indeed ruin her plan.

"Athena, once your plan is over, can we have a proper talk?"

That was his final plea. He couldn’t bear losing her now, not after he had finally found his conscience.

Athena nodded, offering a sincere smile.

"Yes, once this is over, I’ll tell you everything. I have a secret to share with you."

It was about the heart, and she hoped Tyler would never learn the truth, but she couldn’t keep deceiving him.

The old Tyler might not have had a heart, but now, his actions and looks spoke volumes of his sincerity.

True feelings shouldn’t be betrayed or squandered, lest she face dire consequences.
