Athena looked way too sweet and innocent to ever cheat, but there was no denying she was nervous right now.
"It's not what you think, there's no other guy. It's just that my bedroom's a mess. Can we crash in the guest room instead?"
Tyler instantly got it. She was so into him that she didn't want him to see her messy side. That thought tickled him, and he loosened his tie a bit, a smirk playing on his lips.
"Sure, lead the way to the guest room."
The bed in the guest room was on the smaller side, but it was enough for the two of them to fit comfortably.
Tyler took a quick shower and came out with nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist. Athena also freshened up, and as soon as the lights went out, Tyler pulled her close.
"Let me give you a kiss."
She leaned in, but Tyler's lips trailed downwards.
She tensed up all over, feeling like she might just explode.
"Stop, it's not clean," she protested.
But Tyler didn’t care; he kissed her thoroughly before lying back beside her, still brushing his lips against hers every now and then.
Athena was a bit awkward with it all, and tried to push him away, but then he quipped, "What? You don't like your own taste?"
It wasn't just that; she was unsure if Tyler did this with other women too. But last time he assured her it was a first for him.
"Tyler, do you really like doing this?"
Tyler chuckled and pulled her in closer.
"Are you jealous?"
"If I say yes, will you stop doing it?"
"Sweetheart, I swear on everything, I've only ever done this with you."
He really wasn't into it with others, but there was something about Athena that was simply irresistible, like a spell he couldn’t shake.
Feeling a bit reassured, Athena chose to believe him, even if she couldn't tell if he was being completely honest. He planted a kiss on her forehead.
"Let's get some sleep, it's late."
But Athena stayed awake, tracing circles on the small mole on his nose, completely captivated. That mole made him remind her of someone else, but without it, he was entirely his own person. It was her favorite thing about him.
Tyler caught her hand, kissed it softly, feeling a bit smug.
Waking up to a home-cooked meal, Tyler was more than pleased. After they ate, he thought about asking if he could use her computer to tweak a script, but she was busy washing dishes, so he wandered over to the bedroom door.
There were only two separate rooms in her place, and since they’d slept in the guest room, this must be the master bedroom. But when he tried the door, it wouldn’t budge. He was a bit surprised.
Athena locked her master bedroom in her own home?
What was she hiding in there?
Curiosity piqued, he returned to the kitchen.
"Did you lock your bedroom?"
Athena paused in her dishwashing, "No, it's not locked by me. I found the lock jammed this morning, called a locksmith. He should be here soon after you leave."
Tyler leaned against the kitchen doorframe, not taking his eyes off her.
"You know, I used to tell my exes the same thing, but really, I was hiding someone I’d had a fling with."
Athena just laughed, setting down the plate.
"There’s really no other man, I promise you."
