Before he could finish, Cherise turned with a flushed face and seethed, “If you have something to say, say it in my office!”
A group of patients and their families huddled around the nurse’s station, straining to overhear the conversation.

Damien gracefully entered Cherise’s office behind her, suppressing a chuckle.

Lucy was engrossed in a medical journal in the office.
Lucy nearly whistled in surprise as Cherise and Damien walked into the office one after the other.
The doctor beside her looked at Lucy confusedly and asked, “Dr. Staber, is something wrong?”
“Nothing.” She stifled her laughter.
Lucy stood up and scanned the young doctors who had just started their internships. “Who mentioned wanting to visit Maeye?”
A row of young doctors raised their hands simultaneously.
Maeve’s condition was unique, and though no one openly admitted it, they were all intrigued by this patient.
“Let’s go! I’ll take you to see her!”.

Lucy gestured, and the group of young doctors, notebooks in hand, obediently followed her out the doo
As she passed Damien, Lucy smiled and remarked, “To ensure your privacy, I must sacrifice. your sister.”
Damien chuckled sofily and responded, “She would be more than happy.”
She saved a bookmark on the desktop for easy accessibility.
Her face flushed as she hurriedly grabbed the mouse to delete the icon.
Damien sat there leisurely, watching her, “Right, it should be deleted.”
“Otherwise, it might harm your image if people discovered that the usually serious and scholarly Dr. Shaw reads romance novels during work hours.”

Cherise’s words caught in her throat.
Everyone knows that she loves romance novels. What’s wrong with that?
She took a deep breath and asserted, “Mr. Lenoir, I thought you came here to discuss serious. matters with me.”
Damien smiled faintly, “I want to discuss serious matters with you.”
He glanced at my phone, “The fish is on the hook.”
