Chapter 1144 Defiant Attitude
Lennon's grip on the utensils tightened, his knuckles turning white with tension.
Lucy couldn't help but chuckle coldly, a hint of satisfaction flickering in her eyes.
"Lenn," Violet called softly.
Violet's lip tightened as she leaned in sweetly against Lennon's shoulder, her voice laced with discomfort, "Can we go somewhere else? I feel really uneasy here. I don't want to dine in the same place with someone like her!"
Lennon's brows furrowed slightly, but he responded in a calm tone, "Pay no attention to her."
Violet couldn't help but pout in response. "But those awful words she directed at me... It's upsetting."
"If you stand firm, you won't be bothered by petty remarks. Let her say what she wants."
With a reassuring smile, Lennon extended his hands to make a soft pinch on her cheeks. "Come on, be a good girl. I'll get you a new bag later, alright?"
"Alright!"
A grin formed on Violet's lips as she nestled against Lennon's shoulder, a satisfied expression on her face.
Lucy's provocations don't matter in the end since Lennon was now firmly by her side!
She had invested so much into her relationship with Lennon, but she was only an abandoned kitten at the end of the day.
A quiet snigger escaped Violet's lips as she mused on her thoughts.
Within a short few minutes, the waiter arrived with their orders: two sets of waffles with strawberries and maple syrup.
In a strange twist of events, Lucy, Lennon, and Violet's order matched.
As if to flaunt their unity, Violet cut into the waffles and offered a bite to Lennon, saying, "Lenn, here you go."
A flicker of subtle indifference passed through Lennon's dark eyes.
But in the next moment, a smile appeared on his face as he accepted the bite, savoring the waffles fed to him by Violet.
Lucy, observing from afar, couldn't help but roll her eyes at the theatrics unfolding.
She nonchalantly nudged the plate of waffles towards Colin. "Darling, how about you feed me?"
Colin felt like a mere bystander in this orchestrated scene.
Was he this irrational?
"Mr. Belcourt," Colin addressed Lennon, his tone measured but firm.
Colin's blood simmered beneath his calm exterior, ignoring their usual amiable relations as he rose to his feet with a steely resolve. "You're being excessively domineering."
"We ordered those waffles, yet you've taken them without our consent," Colin continued, his voice tinged with incredulity.
Lennon reclaimed his seat, the plate of stolen waffles placed deliberately before Violet, his voice carrying a frigid edge. "I'll cover the cost of these waffles myself."
His gaze, sharp and unwavering, swept over Colin and Lucy, a silent challenge in his demeanor. "Any objections?"
"You're so generous, Lenn!" Violet chimed in, her tone sugary sweet.
With a satisfied smile, she drew the plate of waffles closer, her words dripping with feigned obliviousness. "I was just about to praise the waffles here. In fact, I was considering ordering another plate!"
The two of them didn't think in the slightest that what they had done was excessive.
Colin's hand clenched into a tight fist beneath the table, frustration simmering beneath his skin.
