Dangerous Love: You Are My One and Only Bride novel Chapter 427

About ten minutes later, Mark was done changing and headed downstairs. “Let’s go.”

Arianne went up to him in delight, while Mark bent his arm naturally and gestured for Arianne to hold his arm. With a slight blush, Arianne wrapped her hand around his arm.

She called Tiffany as soon as she got into the car, asking her, “Tiffie, where are you? Send me your location. I’m coming for you right now.”

Tired of walking, Tiffany had been sitting on the side of the road for some time. Mark stepped on the pedal after receiving the location, his focused look while driving attracting Arianne’s gaze. She had never imagined that there would be a day when there would be no ill feelings between the two of them. Did the act of her heart thumping mean that she liked him then?

“If you continue looking at me like that, I’ll have to in the middle of the road,” Mark teased when he noticed her heated stare.

“You’re annoying…” Arianne peeled her eyes away from him and looked through the car window in feigned seriousness, observing the scenery passing by.

“Really annoying or not actually annoying?” Mark asked seriously.

“Not actually,” answered Arianne without any hesitation.

After a moment of silence, Mark brought up, seemingly carelessly, “Do you like how things are right now? Would you like to live like this with me? We can leave the past behind, the two of us. I love you, and I know you can try and love me too. Will that work?”

Arianne’s hand suddenly flew to her chest and gripped it tightly at his words. Confused, Mark subconsciously asked, “Have you forgotten to wear your undergarments?”

He received a childish glare from Arianne.

“No…” Arianne had suddenly felt her heart beating wildly after hearing his words, like it was going to jump out of her chest and fly away. Her hand reaching for her chest was completely unconscious, a reflexive action more than anything else.

Mark was impatient as usual. “Good. Answer me, I want to know your answer.”

Arianne bit her lips and nodded.

There was an inexplicable sense of security rushing through Mark, but it was not reassuring. Everything was uncertain right now. Before Arianne saw the letter, everything was only wishful thinking and hoping. He was only deceiving and indulging himself with what they had now.

Finding Tiffany at the location she sent, Arianne saw that her face was stained with tears, both shed and unshed. When the two women were seated in the back of the car in each other’s arms, one crying while the other comforted her, they completely forgot about Mark, taking him as an invisible driver.

Mark could not stand women crying. Arianne rarely cried, at least to his knowledge. Listening to Tiffany’s sobs, he became vexed and rolled down the car window to light up a cigarette. He had finally quit smoking, but he would puff one occasionally, usually when he was frustrated.

Mark stopped when he reached a booth. Tiffany looked slightly unnatural. She had thought that it would only be the three of them but no, Mark did not reserve a booth. He had probably found out that Jackson and Eric were here when he made the call and decided to just join them. The two men were currently enjoying themselves with a group of girls.

Arianne looked rather uneasy too. Had Mark acted the same as Eric and Jackson in the past? With girls on either side of him?

When Jackson saw Tiffany and Arianne, the playboy smile on his face slowly froze. “Mark… I thought that you were coming alone when you called to say that were you were coming… Why didn’t you tell us earlier that you’d bringing the whole family?”

Mark frowned. “Shut it. Act quick.”

Before Jackson could say anything, a woman with an attractive figure and thick makeup on walked toward Mark with a glass of wine in her hand, naturally leaning towards him. “Mr. Tremont, you haven’t been here in a while. All of us here miss you every single day…”

The woman’s bright red nails circled his chest playfully while Mark’s frown deepened.

“Scram.”

The woman was shocked, suspecting her ears. “Mr. Tremont?”
