“Camryn, please give me a little time, alright? I’ll call my mom right away.”
Callum planted a kiss on his fiancée’s cheek and immediately dialed Rosella’s number.
It took a while before the call got through.
“Mom, do you have a moment?”
Rosella responded, “Hmm, I just woke up. I’m quite free today, what’s up? Do you need Mom’s help?”
As her son grew up, there were very few things that required his parents’ assistance.
She had already gotten used to the feeling of not being needed by her children.
“I’m planning to go to the city hall with Camryn before noon to get our marriage license but I didn’t bring the household register with me. Could you or Dad bring it over for me now? Or maybe have someone deliver it to me? By the time I make the trips myself, it’ll be the afternoon, and I’d rather not wait that long.”
If it were not for the missing household register, Callum would be eager to go to City Hall with Camryn right now to seal their marriage.
Since he fell in love with her, he had been looking forward to this moment.
However, back then, Camryn’s eyes were still blind. Faced with someone as outstanding as him, she felt a little inferior and hesitant, particularly considering his feelings for her. It took her a long time to gather the courage to accept him.
They were able to get engaged because he had made several trips to FC Manor just to ask Dr. Carden to treat her eyes. She found out about this and gathered the courage to be with him for the rest of her life, so they got engaged first.
Camryn had always hoped to be able to see him before getting married.
She wanted to know what the man she was marrying looked like.
Listening to what Callum said to her future mother-in-law, Camryn’s face once again turned pink.
He was so impatient...
When Rosella heard it was about something so joyous, she became lively and said, “Of course, I have plenty of time. I’ll send it over right away. Are you at the Newmans’ villa or the office?”
“I’m at the Newmans’ villa. I didn’t go to the office this morning.”
“What is it?”
Camryn, still in his embrace, looked up at him with curious eyes, wondering what tasks he would entrust her with.
“Once we’re married, there should be someone in charge of our family, and I want it to be you. You’ll be in charge and your decisions hold sway. I’ll leave the finances to you, and from then on, my income and assets will be in your care. Feel free to spend however you like, you don’t have to worry about saving on my behalf.”
Camryn replied, “...that’s sweet of you, but it’s a quite challenging task.
“Let’s talk about this in a few years, I have my hands full right now with Carrie filing a lawsuit to get a share of my family’s property. Although I’m not too worried, it’ll still take some time to deal with her. After all, she can be quite troublesome.”
Besides, it would take a few years after marriage to get used to everything.
Callum smiled and said, “Alright, I’ll only entrust the financial matters to you. You don’t have to worry about managing the smaller companies that I own, just handle the money.”
“Ok, I’ll help you handle your finances then.”
