Serenity asked Camryn with concern while Rosella turned to look at Camryn.
She wanted a grandchild, but she would not mind waiting for however long it would take. If the couple decided not to have a child, then Rosella would have to come to terms with it eventually.
Callum and Camryn were adults who had their own ideas about the life they wanted to live. As long as they were happy, Rosella would be happy too.
“Are you tired? Shall we sit in the pavilion?” Rosella asked Camryn when they arrived at the pavilion.
Camryn said, “I’m not tired.”
She wanted to go inside and greet everyone. It would not be polite to sit outside as soon as she arrived.
“Dr. Carden said that my physical condition isn’t suitable for childbearing at the moment. I need to take medication for a period of time, but that will have to wait until my eyes recover.”
Camryn calmly told Rosella the truth.
She thought it would be better to let Callum’s family know as early as possible so that everyone could be mentally prepared. That way, they would not get worried if she did not get pregnant for a long time after marriage.
Hearing this, Rosella asked with concern, “Did Dr. Carden say it could be cured?”
Rosella knew that Camryn had been abused in the past, which could leave some side effects.
At the same time, Rosella resented Paige for this. Rosella could not comprehend how a mother could resent her own child after going through the whole pregnancy, even if she did not love her ex-husband. How could Paige treat her two daughters so differently?
Even if Zachary purposely explained it, not many believed them.
After the gossip died down, Grandma May started worrying about this and sent a list of supplements to Tania, saying that they could help Serenity conceive.
Serenity knew what kind of pressure she would face if she could not get pregnant after a long time post-marriage. She grew anxious and became extremely stressed about it.
“Dr. Carden assured me that I was treatable. She noted that I was malnourished previously, but fortunately, she can treat me now. If there had been any delay, there would be little hope left. Dr. Carden prescribed a medication regimen for eighteen months. If another doctor was treating me, it would probably take two years or longer.”
Rosella and Serenity were relieved to hear that Lilian could treat Camryn.
Rosella said, “That’s good. You and Callum can tie the knot and enjoy a few years of quality couple time. The children will come eventually.”
