Throughout her pregnancy, Jasmine felt as if she was in prison because she did not have much freedom.
She wondered how the York family would treat Serenity. Would Serenity also be restricted to only looking after the bookstore like her?
“You’re past your first trimester, right? The pregnancy should be stable. You can go out and get some fresh air as long as it’s not a dangerous place. Don’t tire yourself out too. When you’re in your late stages of pregnancy, it’s best to avoid traveling far.”
Jasmine got even more jealous upon hearing Grandma May’s words.
She was not jealous of Grandma May but of her friend.
Grandma May’s words made Jasmine realize that Serenity’s movement area would not be restricted to just Wiltspoon like her.
The three of them chatted for a while before Jasmine took her leave.
She did not go home. Instead, she had her bodyguards send her to York Corporation.
When Jasmine arrived at the company, there was still half an hour before the employees’ break. She told the bodyguards to park the car at the company’s main entrance. There was no need to enter the company.
She did not want to distract Josh from his work.
However, Josh soon found out about his beloved wife’s arrival.
The security department did not consist of useless people.
The guards had already memorized the car Jasmine used frequently. Serenity’s car plate number was also etched in their minds.
Serenity’s and Jasmine’s faces were the ones that everyone in the security department was required to remember.
There was a trending saying in Wiltspoon stating that one could offend Mr. York or Mr. Bucham but never their wives.
Zachary and Josh were extremely doting husbands.
Everyone was aware of their capabilities and methods.
As Josh was used to enjoying the AC, his handsome face turned red from exposure to the sun on his way out. He was also sweating profusely from running.
There was no cool air from the AC after exiting his office building. In addition, the main entrance was quite a distance from his office building. It was no wonder he felt hot as he ran out without an umbrella.
Jasmine quickly wiped his sweat with a piece of tissue as she saw his forehead beaded with sweat.
“Why did you run out? It’s almost time to get off work. I only had to wait outside here for a short while. It’s not hot because there’s AC in the car. Look at you. Your head is covered in sweat.”
Josh savored his wife’s attentive service. He said, “I heard you came but didn’t enter the company, so I rushed out to have a look. Didn’t you go to Serenity’s place? I thought you’d be staying back at her place for lunch. Zachary said he wouldn’t return to the company for a few days.”
“Mr. York had already brought Seren to the hospital when I went over. She’s experiencing morning sickness. She must’ve been unaware that she had been pregnant for some time.”
As Jasmine wiped her husband’s sweat, she said, “Grandma May’s back. When I left, she was asking Liberty to accompany her to visit Mr. Lewis. Since someone’s looking after the store for me, I came to wait for you and have lunch together.
“When I arrived, it was half an hour until your lunch break. I didn’t want to distract you by going inside, but I guess they still informed you about it.”
