After Serenity hung up the phone, she said to her best friend, “Mr. York refused to cooperate with me in the acting.”
Jasmine giggled. “Even while thinking with my toes, I’d know he wouldn’t cooperate.
“He’s like a piece of gum that wants to stick to you 24/7. How would a piece of gum like that be willing to cooperate with you in acting? It’s not worth it if you really chase him out to the study.”
“Birds of a feather flock together. Mr. Bucham is also a piece of gum.”
Jasmine said wittily, “Exactly. I haven’t messaged him about going to the manor with you for a staycation during the weekend yet.
“I’ll tell him during lunch.”
If she told him now and he was unwilling, it would affect his work.
On the other side, Zachary called Edwin after he finished talking with his wife.
Edwin swiftly answered the call.
“Mr. York.”
“Sorry for bothering you, Mr. Daniels. Can I text you?”
Edwin was first stunned before saying with a smile, “Of course.”
“We’ll chat on WhatsApp.”
Zachary hung up the phone.
Edwin felt a little nervous.
Ever since their companies settled on the project they were partnering on, Zachary had not contacted him for a long time.
“However, Ms. Daniels printed these photos and sent them to my wife. What is that supposed to mean? Does she want to disgust my wife by sending pictures of herself being intimate with another man? She’s deliberately trying to upset my wife, isn’t she?”
Edwin finished listening to the voice message sent by Zachary, then opened the photos and looked at them carefully. He felt his blood pressure rise.
Although the man in the photos was not Zachary, his daughter found a man who very much resembled Zachary’s physique. The angles in which the intimate pictures were taken deliberately left out the man’s face. Then, the photos were sent to Mrs. York. Even a fool would know what the motive was.
Zachary did not go after his daughter straight and chose to send him the photos instead for him to deal with it.
Zachary was saving some face for him because he did not want to destroy the ongoing partnership between their companies.
Edwin forced himself to suppress his anger and sent a voice message in reply, saying, “I’ll deal with this, Mr. York. I’ll book the next flight back and handle this matter personally. I assure you that your wife and you will be satisfied.
“Please apologize to Mrs. York on my behalf for the trouble my daughter has caused.”
After receiving Edwin’s reply, Zachary said in a low voice, “We’ll look forward to how you deal with this, Mr. Daniels.”
