"It's not that, I'm just telling you to be gentle."
"I know. I'm being very careful," he murmured, his voice laced with endless affection. Ever since they learned Stella was carrying triplets, Ronald had been exercising extreme self-control. Dylan was checking on her every other day, but sometimes Stella was so exhausted they could only manage one check-up.
"Sis called me just now. Maybe you should have her come back?"
"Hmm?" Ronald looked at her, confused by the sudden mention of Yvonne returning.
Stella explained, "She was under too much psychological stress recently. She said she thinks she's having mental health issues again."
Ronald's expression hardened. Hearing those words, his breath hitched. "Mental health issues?"
"Yeah. She said she throws up whenever she gets anxious."
Thinking about it, Stella's heart ached for Yvonne. Some might think a person with Yvonne's fiery personality wouldn't be prone to such problems, but Stella knew how fragile her sister truly was underneath. She felt things very deeply. If she didn't, the whole ordeal with Dan years ago wouldn't have broken her so badly that it took several psychiatrists to help her recover.
"Let her come back. To be honest, I don't think she should be involved in anything related to Dan," Stella said earnestly.
At that moment, Ronald wasn't overthinking the 'throwing up when anxious' part. He just nodded. "I'll contact her."
She was his sister, after all. Hearing that she was struggling, nothing else mattered.
Ronald went to his study to call Yvonne. Stella was about to organize the baby things when a maid knocked on the door. "Ma'am, a Miss Tegan James called. She said she'll be here to see you shortly."
"Tegan?"
"Yes, ma'am."
Stella glanced at her phone's call log. There was no missed call from Tegan; she must have called while Stella was on the phone with Yvonne.
"Did she say when she'd arrive?"
All eyes were on Finley, who looked just as shocked as they were. No, no, he hadn't meant to kneel—he'd just... tripped! Oh, whatever.
Finley threw his arms around Stella's legs. "Star, you have to save me! Ronald is a monster! He's trying to leave me to die in that godforsaken Muliba Desert!"
Finley was sobbing his heart out, and combined with his wretched appearance, it made the corner of Stella's mouth twitch. She instinctively tried to pull her leg free. "Let go. He's not going to let you die."
What a joke. Ronald would never let anything happen to one of his own. Even if he sent Finley to the Muliba Desert, it was undoubtedly for an important mission.
"He's really not a good person..." Finley wailed.
"How did you get back?" Stella asked.
"I ran!"
Stella was stunned. Just how much had this guy suffered in the Muliba Desert? It had driven him to literally run all the way back.
