Stella herself still found it unbelievable that he had brought a woman home.
She cleared her throat. "He said that on the way back from dropping Octavius off in Kerr City, the girl got into the wrong car and just slept in the backseat the whole way."
Yvonne raised an eyebrow. "Slept the whole way?"
Stella nodded. "Yeah."
"We're talking about Idris, right, babe?" Yvonne's skepticism returned in full force. "Do I even need to mention how insanely high his situational awareness is?"
Stella nodded again. "I know, but that's exactly what happened."
As for why Idris hadn't noticed someone in his backseat, that remained a complete mystery.
Yvonne's tone turned serious. "Has everything about her background been thoroughly investigated?"
At a time like this, they couldn't be blamed for being paranoid.
With Stella and Ronald's wedding right around the corner, everyone was on high alert.
Yvonne was especially defensive against Berry, guarding against her like she was a deadly plague.
She had given a direct order to keep the woman trapped in Novaderma.
Stella smiled warmly. "He checked everything, don't worry. And after Ronald's warning just now, Idris will be even more careful."
No matter what kind of troublemakers lurked in the shadows, tomorrow's wedding would go off without a hitch.
Yvonne nodded in relief.
She figured that since it had caught Ronald's attention, Idris would handle the situation with extreme caution.
Just as she finished her thought, her phone began to buzz.
It was Mona Haig.
"I need money. Send me some funds right now," Mona demanded, though she tried her hardest to sound polite to Yvonne.
Berry desperately needed cash for her situation.
But Xander had made it clear that Yvonne controlled all the finances.
Having to beg Yvonne for money felt utterly humiliating for Mona, but she had no other choice.
Yvonne scoffed. "Money? Until we completely figure out the depth of your relationship with Berry, you aren't getting a single cent from me."
Mona was left speechless.
