Chapter 34 

When Harrison grew older, he heard stories about Sarah and Arnold’s relationship, but unlike the rest of the family, he didn’t harbor any resentment toward her. 

On the contrary, he found the rumors about her unconvincing. 

Over the years, Harrison had seen firsthand how Sarah devoted herself to Arnold, tending to him with gentle care, looking after Alex, and doing her utmost to fulfill her duties as Luna. 

She seemed nearly perfect in both roles–as a Luna and a wife. 

If he were Arnold, he would have been proud to have a Luna like Sarah. 

Earlier, Harrison had gone downstairs for a late–night snack when he accidentally overheard the conversation between Arnold and Josiah. 

Now, seeing Sarah’s thin, retreating figure, he couldn’t stop himself from speaking up. 

“Sister–in–law, you’re a very good Luna. One day, my brother will see that.” 

**One day?** 

There wouldn’t be any more “later” for her and Arnold. 

Instead of explaining that she had filed for divorce, Sarah gave a faint smile and replied, “Thank you, Harrison.” 

“It’s late; you should get some rest, Sister–in–law.” 

Sarah smiled softly. “Okay. Good night.” 

Back in her room, Sarah lay on her bed and decided not to wait for Arnold any longer. She planned to go to sleep first. 

She had just turned off the light when she heard Arnold’s footsteps entering the bedroom. 

Arnold paused when he stepped inside. 

The room was dark, and for a moment, he thought no one was there until he realized Sarah was already in bed. 

He hesitated. 

Once upon a time, no matter how late he returned, Sarah would always wait for him with a small light on. 

Even if she had fallen asleep, she would force herself awake, get up to hang his suit, prepare a bath, and lay out his bedding. 

But now, she made no move to get up. Instead, she closed her eyes as if indifferent to his arrival. 

Although Arnold had always been cold to Sarah and dismissive of her attentiveness, he couldn’t help but notice her changed demeanor. 

Her indifference surprised him. 

Still, Arnold dismissed the thought quickly.

She’s just sulking, he concluded. 

Arnold didn’t dwell on Sarah’s behavior; her feelings and actions weren’t worth his attention. 

He didn’t care, 

“You need to pay more attention to Alex’s training program,” Arnold said coldly. “His grades have been slipping. I’ve arranged for a new teacher and venue for him. Make sure you take him there tomorrow.” 

Sarah remained silent, her eyes shut as if she were asleep. 

Annoyed, Arnold added, “And I heard you resigned from your position in the pack. Focus more on Alex–after all, he’s probably-” 

Arnold didn’t finish his sentence, turning instead to the closet to retrieve clothes for his shower. 

But Sarah already knew what he meant. 

Alex was likely to be the only child between them. 

As Arnold’s eldest son, Alex would inherit the Silvermoon Pack in the future. Even if Arnold married Linda, that reality wouldn’t change. 

In Arnold’s mind, Sarah was determined to rely on Alex to secure her position and future wealth and status. 

That’s why, he thought, she went to such lengths to educate him. 

In that moment, Sarah felt utterly drained. 

She looked at his back and wanted to open her mouth to ask when they could go through with the divorce and when they could reject each other completely. 

This joke the moon goddess was playing on them, get it over with. 

“Arnold ……” 

Just then, Arnold’s phone rang. 

She couldn’t hear exactly what was said on the other end of the line, but she could see Arnold’s brows stretching, sweeping away the impatience from earlier, and his tone softening. 

Sarah immediately guessed that it was Linda on the other end of the line. 

“Got it, wait for me at home, I’ll be right there.” 

After saying that, Arnold quickly left the room without looking back. 

Sarah watched him leave without any intention of stopping him. 

After a while, she heard the sound of a car engine starting. 

Arnold had already left Lancelot Manor. 

Sarah closed her eyes and calmly turned off the light and fell asleep. 

This was the reason why Sarah had never asked Arnold about the progress of the divorce these days. Because compared to

The next morning, the alarm went off at exactly 6:00 a.m. Sarah got up and saw the empty bed on the other side. 

It was very cold there, and Arnold hadn’t returned all night. 

Sarah no longer cared, she got dressed and knocked on the door of Alex’s room. 

The training grounds were far from Lancelot Manor and they had to get up early to get there. 

Alex’s door remained locked. 

Sarah had no choice but to keep knocking, “Alex, wake up, we’re leaving.” 

After a while, Alex finally got up and opened the door. 

Alex rubbed his eyes and said unhappily, “Mom, why are you yelling so loud this early in the morning, I’m getting a headache 

from you.” 

He had told Aunt Linda about the situation last night, and not only did Aunt Linda not blame him, she reassured him that we could go out together next weekend. 

But she sounded so loss. 

Alex felt so guilty about it that he couldn’t help but feel even more angry at Sarah in his mind. 

Why did she knock so loudly? Why wasn’t her voice gentle when she woke him up? If Aunt Linda was his mom, surely she wouldn’t be so rude! 

Alex glared at him in displeasure. 

Sarah looked at him annoyed, and instead of getting angry, she calmly glanced at her watch and reminded, “If you don’t go wash up and instead choose to continue standing here complaining about me, you’re bound to be late for your first period class, and you may be punished for it.” 

He didn’t even have the motivation to go to the training grounds if Linda wasn’t driving him to class. 

Alex grunted and rubbed his hair in annoyance.
