Cold Husband Burning Regret: The Divorce He Couldn't Handle novel Chapter 501

A faint smile touched Judd Carstairs's lips as he walked toward her. "Right on time."

"This research institute is quite nice," Charlotte Sterling remarked, looking around. While not as large as the one in Riverspire City, the facility was clearly top-notch.

The space was filled with lush greenery—hanging vines and artfully arranged plantscapes intertwined with the building's white textured walls, giving it a vibrant, lively atmosphere.

Judd smiled. "It is. Shall I show you around?"

She nodded with a smile of her own. "I'd appreciate that."

Judd started forward, gesturing for her to follow.

The two walked through a wide corridor where sunlight streamed through floor-to-ceiling windows, making the polished floor shine like a mirror.

Charlotte followed Judd into the south wing's main office, where the administrative and laboratory areas were neatly separated and impeccably organized.

To the west, a comfortable break room for the staff was furnished with a few stylish sofas and an automatic coffee machine.

"Professor Carstairs." A young male student approached them and handed Judd a data log.

Judd scanned the pages and pointed out an issue. The student's eyes lit up with understanding, and he quickly thanked him, his expression full of trust and admiration.

After the student left, Charlotte teased, "Professor Carstairs, don't tell me all these people are your students?"

"If I wanted them to be, they would be," he replied without a hint of modesty.

Charlotte believed him, of course. With his talent, it was entirely possible he would one day surpass even Old Mr. Carstairs.

"Professor Carstairs, you said we had a new recruit joining today, but HR still hasn't…" Gentry Moore rushed into the office, stopping mid-sentence when he saw the woman standing beside Judd.

"Dr. Moore?" Charlotte said, surprised.

Gentry crossed his arms. "Well, that explains it. I was wondering why Professor Carstairs suddenly mentioned a new team member. So, you're the recruit."

Charlotte looked at Judd. "You were all transferred here?"

"I wasn't transferred!" Gentry huffed. "I was on vacation, and he called me in to help. If he wasn't covering my hotel, meals, and airfare, I wouldn't be here!"

Charlotte offered an awkward smile.
