Cold Husband Burning Regret: The Divorce He Couldn't Handle novel Chapter 310

The sound of Julian’s voice snapped Wesley out of his thoughts. “Understood. I’ll go meet her myself,” he replied.

After hanging up, he turned to face Julian.

Julian stopped in front of him. “Sir, we’ve received word from the auction house…”

“I already know,” Wesley interrupted.

“That was fast.”

Wesley set his towel aside and gave a brief order. “Give me the girl’s information.”

Julian handed over his phone.

Wesley scanned the details on the screen, then nodded, signaling Julian to prepare the car.

At the hospital, Charlotte and Gentry arrived at the ICU to check on Stevenson. Candida was seated at the edge of the bed, gently feeding him.

“How are you feeling today, Mr. Donovan?” Charlotte asked.

Stevenson glanced at her, then quickly looked away. “Much better, honestly. Couldn’t I just be discharged already?”

Candida chuckled. “That’s right, doctor. My husband’s appetite is back, he’s sleeping well—he seems perfectly fine now. There’s really no need to keep him here, is there?”

Gentry shook his head. “Mrs. Donovan, whether he can go home depends on his overall condition. It’s not just a matter of wanting to leave. If something happens right after discharge, the hospital would have to take responsibility for it.”

Candida pursed her lips, about to protest, but Stevenson spoke first. “So how much longer do I need to stay?”

“If things keep improving tomorrow, you can move to a regular room,” Gentry explained. “After five days, we’ll remove your stitches. As long as there are no complications during that time, I can arrange for your discharge.”

Candida relaxed a little. “Alright, five more days it is.”

At least now they knew how much longer it would be.

Stevenson didn’t say anything more.

Once Charlotte and Gentry left the ICU, Gentry suddenly asked, “I heard Mr. Carstairs got upset with you the other day?”

Charlotte nodded, but her mind was already elsewhere.

If that dream she’d had was real…

If Judd had truly been one of the boys back then, why did the police say there were only two survivors, not three…?

Was this why the Carstairs family forbade anyone from mentioning it?

When Loretta got the call, she assumed it was someone from the auction house and immediately agreed to a meeting.

Julian waited outside the restaurant. After a few minutes, he spotted a young woman stepping out of a taxi.

He studied her—she looked just like the girl in the file.

He approached her. “Excuse me, are you Miss Donovan?”
