Chapter 116
Kaia's POV
“No. Fucking. way!” I thought, my eyes squinting as I looked at the man in front of me. His eyes were like staring at Kieran. He wasn't as tall, but he was well built. A scar ran on the side of his face…other than that, the resemblance between them was uncanny.
“What the hell is going on here?" Lylah asked, but heck if I knew as well.
The man smiled…more like smirked at me, “Luna Kaia!" He called and I frowned.
I mean, I was still trying to make sense of the resemblance between him and Kieran and now he knows me by my name.
“It's a pleasure to finally meet you, I've heard a lot about you.” He said, smiling but I didn't feel the same way as I looked at him suspiciously.
Apart from his weird smile, there was something off about him that didn't sit well with me. So I offered him a forced smile and made an attempt to move but he blocked my way. I felt my heart racing as I tried mind-linking Kieran but I felt a wall rising.
“Now, that's just rude." He said, “I just want to talk…don't make it hard, beautiful." He looked calm, but his voice was anything but that. I tried mind-linking Kieran again but it was the same thing.
I moved backwards, my hand unconsciously wrapping itself around my stomach. He ignored me, as he led me away to an area, farther from the restroom before letting go of my hand
"Lylah, can you reach King?” I asked, trying to keep my voice from trembling but I don't think I was doing a good job.
She shook her head, “I can't seem to reach him." She said and I heard the panic in her voice which did nothing to help me. I kept a straight face, so he wouldn't know how much he was affecting me.
“Look," I started, “things don't have to get ugly. Just let me go and I'll pretend this never happened.” He laughed, but it didn't reach his eyes.
I'm sure that since he knew my name, there was no doubt he knew who I was and Kieran wasn't going to take it easy with him if anything happens to me. "Are you an Alpha?” I asked, once he was done laughing.
"You can say that I am, beautiful.” He replied and I cringed at the endearment. “Isn't this nice? We're getting to know each other just like it's supposed to be.”
My head jerked upward, my gaze meeting his. “What?"
“You know," he started, moving close to me but with each of his steps, I moved backwards until my back touched a wall. I prayed for someone…anyone to come to my aid at this point.
“You should be mine…not his.” He murmured, his hand reaching to caress my face and I felt Lylah come to the surface.
“Don't you dare touch us."
He smiled, withdrawing his hand. "There she is!” He exclaimed. "I've been waiting to see her.”
I tuned him out as I tried reaching out to Kieran and Ryder but there was nothing which was weird seeing how I spoke to him a few minutes ago. He kept talking about how I was his…going to be and how everything was going to go back to how they were supposed to be soon.
“I’ll let you be now.” He said and a relieved sigh escaped my lips before I could stop it. "you should be able to mindlink your mate in a few minutes.” He said, adding a wink as he left.
“What the fuck just happened?" My hand went straight to my chest, trying to calm my racing heart.
Mind-linking Kieran didn't work again and no doubt he had something to do with it from his last statement. So I hurried back to get back to him. The meeting just started and it already got weird.
“Just who was he?" I asked myself.
I barely got an answer to my question when a scent I hoped to never smell again filled my nostrils. I totally forgot that he was going to be here…he was an Alpha after all.
My eyes darted around, looking for the best way to avoid him but it was too late as his eyes landed on me.
I scoffed, struggling to loosen his grip on me. "You wish.”
I was aware that the last thing I should be doing was making him angry, but Lylah wanted me to keep talking so he wouldn't do something else while she talked to King. Apart from the fact that he was an Alpha and was stronger than I was, keeping our pup safe in this situation was our first priority.
“I'm going to forgive you for letting another man touch you, but you'll need to get rid of that mark. You belong to me and no one else." He said, and I watched as his teeth extended and he came closer to my neck.
Gathering all my strength and that of Lylah, I closed my eyes and pushed him away. Not expecting it, it sent him a few feets away from me and a surprised look appeared on his face giving me the chance to run but he was fast and caught up with me.
“Where's Kieran?" I asked Lylah.
“He's close, I can smell him."
Aiden chuckled, his nails digging into my skin, “feisty…I'm going to enjoying breaking you.”
His eyes looked like that of a prey hunting its predator but I wasn't going to give up. Kieran was going to find me, one thing I'm certain about.
Aiden continued dragging me away and some of the members of the Pack just moved out of the way.
“Let me out!" Lylah growled, gnawing at me. "Let's teach him a lesson.”
"Our pup?”
She let out a growl, the fact that she couldn't do anything was hurting her as well. But I didn't have to worry for long when a loud, angry growl reached my ears and Aiden was thrown off me. I fell to the ground, wrapping my arms around me, relief flooded my veins as Kieran landed several punches to his face.
Could I really not go a few days without trouble or without needing saving?
