Chapter 111
Kaia's POV
The guys couldn't shut their mouths when they got to the office and I narrated the same thing I told Kieran about Nessa. It was hard to believe that the seventeen year old girl we all doted on, was a witch who was out to get us for only who knows why.
“This feels unreal but her inquisitive nature suddenly makes sense." Dani said, “she was asking because she needed information to work with.” Her disappointment, just like the rest of us, was evident on her face.
“And she succeeded." Allie murmured, her voice low and the light in her eyes dim.
Her own case was a mixture of disappointment and dealing with Dylan's absence. I'm sure Dylan was kicking his fist in the air for leaving also.
We were all gathered in Kieran's office and I made myself comfortable as we discussed the next step. I pushed away the thought that it was through me that she got access to the rest of them.
“There was no way you could've known." Lylah said, and I nodded.
Ryder stood up, going to Kieran’s desk where he picked up some papers before coming back. “But this is a list that contains the names of everyone that was banished," he started, “it also has the names of their children. So how did Alpha Tyler miss her or her parents?"
"She was adopted, remember?” I asked.
"But none of them had a child named Nessa.”
"That's because her name isn't Nessa but Zara.” Allie replied and I didn't miss the way Ryder's head darted to her, a small smile on his face.
He really should set his priorities right.
"She must be having a good laugh at us wherever she is.”
"If I lay my hands on her, I'll teach her a lesson she'd not forget in a hurry.” Dani threatened, cracking her knuckles with a murderous look in her eyes.
Kieran who had been quiet and deep in thought until now spoke up. “Under no condition is she supposed to find out that we know about her." He ordered.
“What?" We chorused.
“Wouldn't it be better if we have her punished, Alpha? It'll put an end to all of the attacks we are experiencing." Dani asked and I agreed.
Leaving her to go about acting like she was just an ordinary kid wasn't doing us any good. Pack members were scared about who would be the next to be attacked and where was safe, if the shooters were able to breach the patrol team at the Pack borders.
“Having her would do us no good as much as having her free would.” He said and I couldn't help the confusion that appeared on my face.
"Can't you just use your Alpha command on her to make her confess?” I asked.
"She used spells to cause the death of the shooters we caught to prevent them from exposing their secrets.” Caleb said. "the moment she knows we're onto her, there is no telling what she can do.” He explained.
I nodded, "so we pretend to be clueless?”
Then Kieran went ahead to explain that no one knew the extent of her powers and if her step parents were also a witch and wizard or if they only knew about it and were keeping it a secret.
“I have no doubt that she's working with the leader of the shooters…that's who she's giving information to.” Kieran said.
"Fucking hell!” Ryder cursed. And I understood his frustration, it keeps getting worse.
It didn't take long for the food to be done with, and Kieran clear the plates and then laid on the bed beside me. We enjoyed each other's presence, talking about plans for the future, our child and even the Pack but nothing serious.
“I want to have four kids, so they can always have someone to play with.” I said, when he asked how many kids I'd like to have. “What about you?"
He shrugged, “maybe three…but I'm fine with as many as you want.” he added.
“I think four is perfect." I told him raising my head to look at him and he nodded, “I think so too." He said, kissing me on the lips lightly.
Even though we were only having our first, I knew I wasn't going to stop there. Being an only child wasn't fun for me growing up and since he had Allie and the guys, it was much more easier for him. I want my…our kids to be able to play with each other.
“What do you think about having your Luna ceremony after the Alphas' meeting?" Kieran asked suddenly, snapping me out of the daydream of watching our kids run around.
I sat upright, turning to look at him. “That was unexpected."
“I've been thinking about it, I want our pup to be born when you are recognized as the Luna of the Pack officially.” He said. “You're carrying the heir of the Pack, and I want him or her to be respected as that.
I nodded, I guess it was time for that to actually happen seeing how I've been avoiding the topic for a long time but I can just do it and get over it once and for all.
"That's the spirit!” Lylah exclaimed excitedly.
“Yes, let's have it then." I replied. “But with everything going on, do you think it's the best timing?"
“We'd work things out before then.” He assured me.
Since I was already doing most of the duties, I might as well get committed to it.
