Claimed And Marked By Her Stepbrother Mates novel Chapter 853

Chapter 853: 853-Just One Cunning Idea.

Helanie:

As Kaye’s words sank in, I realized we were in serious trouble. There was no real way for us to defeat the curse. At least not Emmet’s curse.

"So, let me get this straight," Norman said, raising a finger as if he was trying to piece it together. "Even if Emmet kills Azura there, he’ll have to toss her body out here. When he does, the poison from his curse breaking will spread into the air, right?"

After he finished and watched our faces, we started nodding.

"And that’ll affect him too," he muttered. We all nodded again.

"What about our curses? Do you think our poisons are gone or not?" Norman asked and I shrugged sincerely.

"All I remember is that it takes a few days. How many? I have no idea," I admitted. There was no way we could find out, unless the brothers somehow convinced their mother to share more details with us.

"Okay, one of you needs to call your mother and tell her Emmet isn’t going to survive this curse," I insisted as there seemed to be no other way out now.

Reluctantly, Norman dialed her number and it seemed like she was sitting idle with the phone in her hand because she picked up the call instantly.

He put her on speaker.

"Wow. Isn’t it a miracle my son is calling me now?" she taunted, her voice filled with false sweetness.

"When a mother doesn’t remember her kids, the kids have to remember her," Norman sneered.

"How are you doing?" Norman asked, biting his bottom lip and rolling his eyes.

"It’s sad my children didn’t defend me," she complained.

It was infuriating. After she’d caused so much suffering, she acted like she wasn’t at fault and like she deserved to be saved. But we needed her help, so we bit our tongues.

"There was an incident here," Norman ignored her complaints. "The gray woman, remember? She came and tried to attack our children. She even tried to attack Emmet in his sleep."

"There is no way she would come to attack him." She scoffed loudly.

It wasn’t a mystery by then that she was working with that gray woman.

"We don’t attack anyone. We’re just trying to save people." She kept lying stubbornly.

"Yeah, whatever," Norman snapped, "but mother, she came here and she attacked our babies and Emmet." As he used a harsh tone this time, she went silent for a minute.

"Anyway, Helanie has decided to sacrifice herself," Norman uttered while letting out a deep sigh of stress. A loud gasp erupted from her side because this was probably not something she ever believed her sons would let me do.

"Wait, really?" she asked.

"Yeah. Since we couldn’t find Azura and her mother, which I’m pretty sure you knew about the gray woman and Azura being her mother, we had to do something to save Emmet. So Helanie has decided to sacrifice herself."

Norman was doing great, but I could tell it was hard for him to say all that about me.
