Chosen By The Moon (Dylan) novel Chapter 424

Carlos POV

I stalked the palace grounds in my new wolf form, feeling my strength grow as the moon rose higher in the night sky. I felt strong, and I felt powerful as my newly formed paws slowly marched through my prison.

It wasn't until I reached the portrait hallway that I actually came across a guard. His eyes widened as he saw me turn the corner and a growl left his lips.

I didn't care for his warning, I had bigger things on my mind. So without even thinking twice about it, I charged at the lad. He was much younger in years than I was, and much more familiar with his Lycan form, I knew I couldnt give him the chance to shift too. My teeth instantly locked onto the poor fellows neck tearing it to shreds a before he even had the time to react.

The unfamiliar taste of blood filled my mouth, and the scent of his body was overwhelming to say the least. In fact Everything, Now that I was a Lycan, felt heightened beyond belief, it was a strange feeling knowing that you were in your body, but it all of a sudden possessed a strength that was previously unimaginable.

I very quickly understood why the lycans had believed themselves to be better than humans, they were, in actuality, stronger than anything else in the wold.

With this thought process I felt my anger towards their kind increase ten fold. While yes, I will admit that it was true, they were stronger than humans in every way, it infuriated me to think that their kind had held that power over us for so long, although truly thinking about it, I guess their kind is now my kind.

Had I not won over the narcissistic Lycan population by becoming one of them. Was i still branded as human scum? I already know for a fact that there would be humans out there that would despise me now, simply because I folded.

I guess I hadn't prepared myself to be forced into a sort of unknown limbo between the two species.

I shook my head of my thoughts quickly, as the barrel of the gun remained pointed at my head, my inner monologue ceased to continue and a loud unnatural, animalistic growl sounded out from deep in my chest. The noise threw me off completely, and I swallowed thickly, trying to school any sort of emotion that may show on my wolf features.
