Theodore finally understood why Rosalie chose Sebastian. She was carrying Sebastian's child; how could she allow the father of her child to come to harm?
They had long fallen for each other, but he was still caught up in his own feelings, loving her to the point of risking his life.
Rosalie had long given her heart to another man. From the very beginning, she had given her all to someone else.
Theodore used nearly all his strength to force a calm smile. "That's right, I didn't die. Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm very much alive. How about we make a bet? I'm sure I won't die before you."
Sebastian smirked. "Theodore, I won't take that bet because I'll live well. I want to grow old with Rose, watch our child grow up, and then hold our grandchild."
"That's exactly what I wanted to say to you." Theodore stepped forward, the two of them standing very close together. The air was thick with tension.
"Sebastian, you can have Rosalie. I don't want her anyway since I already have another woman. You certainly had reason to be smug about the last time she picked you, but I'm thankful she made that choice. I could see things clearly and meet a woman I truly care for."
After saying this, Theodore turned to leave.
Sebastian narrowed his eyes, a glimmer of danger flashing in his gaze.
He couldn't accept that Theodore could so casually let go of everything. Whether Theodore was being truthful or not, Sebastian couldn't take it.
Theodore should suffer his entire life.
Sebastian turned to say, "Theodore, you're pitiful. You're the most pitiful man I've ever met. Apart from making threats, what else can you do? When our child grows up, I'll tell him that his mother once loved a man who was so despicable and incompetent."
Theodore clenched his fists tightly, his knuckles cracking.
Suddenly, he turned around and lunged at Sebastian, punching the latter's face.
"He didn't tell me." A flicker of pain suddenly crossed Aurora's eyes. "Miss Young, I beg you, let Theodore go. Please don't hurt him anymore, okay?"
"Miss Payne, I don't understand what you're saying."
"No, you do. You know very well how Theodore got hurt."
Hearing this, Rosalie felt a pang in her heart. She avoided Aurora's gaze, and lowered her head to look at Steve.
Aurora continued, "He was seriously injured at that time. I happened to pass by and saved him. Otherwise, he would have died there. He bled a lot."
Rosalie's body began to tremble, and she raised her head. Her eyes were filled with tears as she asked, "You saved him?"
"Yes," Aurora said. "At that time, he was so cold. I thought he was dead, but unexpectedly, he was still alive."
