Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore) novel Chapter 1397

In the deep of the night, the curtains fluttered in the cold wind.

The moon shone like silver outside the window and into a bedroom in the villa.

The weak moonlight danced in the darkness, reflecting a dim blue shadow in the room. Branches swayed outside the window, making a rustling sound.

Rosalie lay on the bed, her face pale as a sheet and her eyes bloodshot and swollen, reflecting the fatigue she was feeling inside.

The look in her eyes was empty and hopeless, like a sole boat wandering in the endless night, void of direction and hope.

The bedside lamp shone a gentle light, lighting up her haggard features. The shadows in the dim room accentuated the loneliness etched on her face.

The night was quiet except for the rustling wind and the heartless ticking of time. The silence in Rosalie's heart, however, was deafening.

Her breathing gradually became labored as she lay on the bed, hopelessness filling her eyes. She looked like a lone spirit roaming the darkness.

The door opened and heavy footsteps approached her.

Rosalie tightened her grip over the sheets and shut her eyes. Her brows furrowed and her cheeks were still swollen.

The lights were switched on and he pounced on her on the bed, flipping her body around.

Rosalie smelt a strong smell of alcohol. He was clearly inebriated.

"Rose, I'm back. Sorry it took me so long. I brought them to a nightclub and they called for so many women. But don't worry, I didn't do that. I have you and I don't want anyone else."

Sebastian buried his head in her neck, breathing out fumes of alcohol as he said drunkenly, "Oh, yes. You don't know who those people you saw today are, right?"

However, even underdeveloped countries had rich people who lived comfortable lives. The only ones suffering were the common folk.

Rosalie never expected Sebastian to come to this place.

Those men welcomed Sebastian so eagerly. Rosalie guessed that he must have spent a lot of money.

Sebastian went on, "There are people specializing in my line of business. I provide the money and they provide the house, even a military team to protect me. There are still people in Melrine trying to catch me because I broke the law there, but they can't come in here. Are you still hoping that Theodore will find a way in here?

"Rose, your future husband is a man with foresight. I've made all the necessary arrangements here and you can forget about ever leaving this place. Stay here, be good, and be my woman. We'll spend our lives together and I'll treat you well."

He kissed her and made a move to remove her clothes.
