Aurora collapsed on the ground, overwhelmed by the sudden force. Her head was pounding and she cupped her red, hot cheeks with her hands.
"What…what did you do? Why did you slap me?" she asked, stunned.
Yerick looked down upon her, his towering figure dark and frightening in the night. "Are you taking me as your hitman, ordering me around as you like?"
It was enough that she ordered him to kill another. How dare she ask him to kill Rosalie?! She was digging her grave!
"I didn't mean that," Aurora said agitatedly. "I'm just so scared! We're on the same boat, so we should help each other out."
"Help each other out?" Yerick crouched down and pinched her chin. "Tell me, then. What have you helped me with so far? Why do you think I arranged for you to be by Theodore's side and allowed you to get to know him? What do you think is my motive?"
"I…I don't know!" Aurora said with trembling lips. The man before her was way too frightening, his eyes ghostly as he chuckled. "But I'll do whatever you ask me to."
"What if I told you to kill Theodore? Will you do that?" Yerick asked.
"No, I can't," Aurora said agitatedly. "I can't kill Theo! I love him, I can't kill him!"
"Hahaha…" Yerick laughed out loud. "Do you love him that much? All of you love him to death. Is he really that good?"
Yerick stood up, facing the glowing moon.
"Yeah, he's great," he spat in irritation. "He was born into riches and led a sheltered life since he was young. He had all the clothes he could wear and food he could eat, with his parents by his side. He even had a childhood sweetheart and a grandmother who doted on him. He had everything, but why?"
Yerick clenched his fists and gritted his teeth, his eyes turning vicious.
They had the same father, but such different fates. Since the heavens were so unfair, he shouldn't be faulted for being so vicious!
Aurora crawled up from the ground. "Do you…do you hate him for having all those?"
Aurora immediately said, "Of course!"
It was her dream!
"Your dream will soon come true," Yerick said with a cunning smirk. "It's easy to get pregnant with his child. I'll give you some good stuff later."
"But… Theodore doesn't want to touch me now. What's more, after Angie was caught, I couldn't meet him until now. I feel like he doesn't want to see me, not to mention be intimate with me."
"He doesn't get a say in whether he touches you or not." Yerick placed the squid skewers on a plate before reaching out for a fresh batch of raw skewers. He arranged them neatly on the grilling rack. "Whatever I say, goes."
The meat on the skewers started sizzling above the fire.
Like the meat on the skewers, everyone seemed to be in his hands and under his control.
