Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore) novel Chapter 1083

"I see," Chandra said with a smile. "No wonder you…"

She suddenly stopped mid-sentence.

Sydney turned to ask, "No wonder what?"

"Nothing," Chandra replied. "Just keep driving straight, then take a right turn."

Sydney didn't press further and kept driving. However, she soon realized that the road was becoming increasingly remote.

Justin dropped Rosalie off at her hotel.

He walked her to the door of her room, but didn't go in. Standing at the entrance, he said, "Goodbye. I'll head off now."

Rosalie glanced at Steve in her arms, who was already dozing off, and said, "Be careful on your way back."

Justin gave a slight nod. "Alright. Can I come by to see you tomorrow?"

"Of course. I was planning to look at some houses tomorrow. Would you come with me?"

Justin nodded. "No problem."

The two agreed to meet the next day. Justin waited until Rosalie closed the door before leaving.

He went down to the parking lot and got into his car. Just as he was about to start the engine, he felt a cold gun barrel pressed against the back of his head.

Justin's brows furrowed as he caught sight of a masked figure in black in the rearview mirror. The man's eyes glinted like those of a hawk.

"Who are you?"

"Drive," the man ordered.

Justin began driving, following the man's instructions as the latter barked orders to change directions. Before long, they approached the sea-crossing bridge. Justin knew that beyond this point lay desolation.

"What do you want? Money or my life?" he asked.

The gun barrel shifted slightly due to the impact. The bullet fired, shattering the windshield instead.

Justin reacted swiftly; he flung the car door open and bolted out. The masked man also jumped out, firing several shots at him.

Justin, agile and quick, dodged the bullets, though not without sustaining some injuries. In an instant, he vaulted over the railing and plunged into the water below with a loud splash, vanishing without a trace.

Yerick leaned over the railing, gritting his teeth as he cursed under his breath. He turned back, got into the car, and drove away.

The next day.

Rosalie waited for Justin at the hotel. Before they parted the previous day, Justin had promised to meet her at nine o'clock. It was now nine, and he should be arriving any moment.

However, as the minutes ticked by and the clock struck nine-thirty, there was still no sign of him.

She didn't have Justin's phone number. Previously, it had always been Justin who came to find her. When she had asked for his number, he had told her that his original phone number was temporarily disconnected, and he hadn't gotten a local number in Blencalgo yet. He mentioned that he usually paid for everything in cash.
