When Aurora arrived, she noticed Theodore leaving the ward.
She hurriedly hid behind a corner as he walked forward. At first, she wanted to call out to him. Then a thought came to mind, and she followed him in secret.
Theodore left the hospital to buy breakfast from a nearby store. Who was he buying breakfast for? Was it for her?
Aurora saw a glimmer of hope.
Since Theodore stayed with Rosalie for an entire night last night, was he buying breakfast for her out of guilt?
She saw Theodore buying two portions of breakfast in two boxes before returning.
Aurora quickly hid herself again. She continued following Theodore, and saw him walking back into Rosalie's ward with breakfast in hand.
Her world imploded before her eyes.
Was Theodore going to have breakfast with Rosalie, too? He had already spent the entire night with her!
'Oh Theo, what do you see me as? Am I not your girlfriend? Why are you keeping your ex-wife company?' Aurora thought, anguished.
Gritting her teeth, she pulled her phone out of her pocket.
Rosalie saw Theodore return. Confused, she asked, "Didn't you leave?"
"I went to buy breakfast," Theodore said. "Eat it while it's still warm."
Rosalie looked at the breakfast in his hands, and the doubt in her heart grew. "You bought two portions?"
Theodore nodded. "Yeah. Let's have breakfast together."
Rosalie was utterly baffled over how naturally he said that. Did he understand the state of their relationship right now? She couldn't believe he bought two portions of breakfast for them.
"Are you going to eat on the bed, or…"
"Theo, why don't you bring your breakfast over to the hospital? We can have breakfast together."
Theodore was silent for a moment before saying, "Aurora, the journey's too far and the food won't taste good when I bring it. I'll buy something fresh for you near the hospital when I reach there."
Aurora covered her mouth with a hand, desperately trying to stop her cries from escaping.
She took a deep breath and tried to suppress her sobs. "Alright, then. I'll wait for you in the hospital. Take your time with breakfast."
Theodore nodded. "Okay. It's still early, go back to sleep."
"Okay."
Aurora hung up. She looked on as Theodore walked back into Rosalie's ward.
'Theo, how could you lie to me so blatantly? You're clearly fooling around with your ex-wife again,' she lamented inwardly.
