CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery novel Chapter 1909

Caleb stayed by the operating room until Luna’s surgery was completed successfully. After that, he remained at her bedside, not leaving for a moment, until she finally regained consciousness hours later.

When Luna opened her eyes, disoriented, she murmured, “Am I… dead?”

The sharp smell of disinfectant made her dizzy, and the unfamiliar surroundings only heightened her anxiety.

“This is the hospital,” Caleb said softly. “You had appendicitis, and surgery was necessary.”

Hearing Caleb’s voice, Luna finally relaxed. She wasn’t dead. But the thought of Caleb sitting by her bedside brought other concerns to mind.

Were they alone? Was anyone else around?

After all, Caleb had brought another woman when he came to find her earlier.

Luna glanced around the room, her searching gaze caught immediately by Caleb.

“Don’t bother looking,” he said coolly. “It’s just me here. I arranged for a VIP room for your recovery.”

Only then did Luna let out a long breath of relief. She hated hospitals and didn’t want anyone knowing she had been admitted to one.

“Unlock your phone and call Simon. Have him come and take care of you,” Caleb said bluntly, his tone devoid of warmth.

Caleb’s words were like a slap in the face, leaving Luna momentarily speechless.

She stared at him, suddenly realizing how unfamiliar he felt. The man standing before her, with his cold, sarcastic demeanor, was nothing like the Caleb she thought she knew. For the first time, she truly felt the distance between them.

Caleb hadn’t intended to say so much, especially given that Luna had just come out of surgery and was still recovering from anesthesia. But her attitude, her words—they all pushed his patience to the limit. Her indifference to his efforts stirred a deep sense of frustration in him.

Pressing his lips together, Caleb threw a few more words at her. “Maybe you’re going to say that you just called me, that you didn’t force me to come. That everything I’ve done was my choice.

“And yes, it’s true. I came here because I love you, and I was willing. But Luna, my love, my sincerity, shouldn’t be something for you to trample on like this.”
