The trash can sailed through the air, scattering its foul-smelling contents across the police station, filling the air with a pungent odor.
Several young officers flanked Kieran from both sides, trying to grab hold of his arms.
But Kieran thrashed wildly, his surprising strength allowing him to break free from one officer’s grip. With a sharp elbow strike, he hit another officer square in the stomach. The officer grunted in pain, stumbling back a few steps but gritted his teeth and held his ground.
The scene in the reception hall descended into chaos. Civilians seeking assistance huddled in corners, some shrieking in fear.
Mrs. Stone stood to the side, wringing her hands and stomping her feet in desperation. Her voice, pleading and panicked, was drowned out by her son’s shouting.
“Kieran, stop this! Calm down!” she cried.
But Kieran was too far gone, consumed by his manic performance. He couldn’t—or wouldn’t—hear her.
The situation was teetering on the brink of total chaos when the precinct chief arrived on the scene.
Tall and imposing, his authoritative presence immediately shifted the atmosphere. His sharp eyes took in the pandemonium, and after a deep breath, he bellowed, “Everybody, stop right now!”
The sheer force of his voice startled Kieran, momentarily freezing him mid-action.
Seizing the opportunity, the chief lunged forward with impressive speed. Grabbing Kieran’s wrist, he twisted it behind Kieran’s back in one swift motion, pinning his arm firmly.
At the same time, the chief placed his other hand on Kieran’s neck, pressing him to the ground with controlled precision.
Kieran struggled and mumbled incoherently, but his resistance was futile.
Once Mrs. Stone finished her emotional plea, the officer looked up and spoke firmly. “Mrs. Stone, please compose yourself. We will thoroughly investigate everything you’ve said to verify the facts.
“However, based on the evidence provided by Miss Karina, your son’s behavior constitutes harassment, which is a clear violation of the law.”
Mrs. Stone’s face twisted with even greater despair. She dropped to her knees and crawled toward the officer, her voice rising in desperation.
“Officer, I’m telling the truth! Karina is a curse to our family. She’s the reason for all our suffering, and now she wants to take Kieran away. This is unjust. There’s no justice in this!”
The officer frowned slightly, taking a step back to maintain an appropriate distance.
“Mrs. Stone, the law applies equally to everyone. We cannot take sides based solely on your words. For now, we ask for your cooperation in our investigation.”
