CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery novel Chapter 1775

The men exchanged uneasy glances, hesitating for a moment before reluctantly mumbling, “Sorry,” to Karina.

Wilfred watched their retreating figures with thinly veiled disgust.

Turning to Karina, he asked gently, “Are you okay?”

Karina shook her head lightly, brushing it off. “I’m fine, Dr. Wilfred. Thank you.”

Wilfred let out a soft sigh. “Come with me. You shouldn’t be working here.”

Karina nodded, following him out of the private room.

Wilfred guided Karina through the bustling bar. The pounding music and chaotic chatter seemed distant and muted, fading into the background as they moved. They made their way to the parking lot, where Wilfred opened the car door, carefully helping Karina into the passenger seat before getting in himself and starting the engine.

As Karina buckled her seatbelt, she turned to Wilfred with a look of curiosity. “Dr. Wilfred, didn’t you say you had things to handle at the hospital? How did you get here so quickly?”

Wilfred kept his eyes on the road, his tone calm yet firm. “Even while I was at the hospital, I couldn’t stop worrying about you. I had a gut feeling something might go wrong.

“So, I wrapped up my work as fast as I could and rushed over. Thankfully, I came in time. Otherwise, tonight could’ve ended very badly for you.”

A wave of warmth surged through Karina’s chest, mixed with lingering fear.

“If it weren’t for you,” she admitted, “I don’t know what I would have done. I was so scared. They wouldn’t even listen to me.”

Wilfred’s brows furrowed slightly, a flicker of concern and anger passing through his eyes.

She had never expected someone to stand up for her so decisively during her darkest moments.

Before long, the car came to a stop outside her building.

“We’re here. Go inside and get some rest. I’ll make sure someone handles the loose ends at the bar tomorrow. You don’t have to worry about a thing.”

Karina turned to him, her gratitude shining through. “Thank you, Dr. Wilfred. Please drive safely and get some rest yourself.”

She stepped out of the car and stood by the curb, watching as Wilfred’s car disappeared into the night.

Turning toward her building, she walked inside, her mind still replaying the events of the evening.
