CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery novel Chapter 1771

Karina froze for a moment, staring at Wilfred's earnest eyes. A wave of mixed emotions swirled within her.

She was indeed under immense financial pressure. The entanglements with Kieran and the Stone family had left her utterly drained, and every penny counted.

Yet, her pride made it hard for her to accept charity, even from someone like Wilfred.

Lowering her head, she softly said, “Thank you for your kindness, Dr. Wilfred, but I can’t accept your money. I’ll work hard and solve this on my own.”

Wilfred frowned, stepping closer. He gently tilted her chin upward, compelling her to meet his gaze.

“Karina, I understand your concerns. But working in an environment like this, exhausting yourself, and exposing yourself to danger isn’t the solution. It could harm your health and reputation.

“I’m not offering charity. I see you as a friend, and I want to help you through this tough time.”

Her eyes glistened with unshed tears, and she bit her lip. “But I don’t want to owe you too much. I’ve already caused you enough trouble…”

Wilfred let out a light sigh. “You’ve never been a burden. From the moment we started working together, I saw your determination and talent.

“Now that you’re facing difficulties, how could I just stand by and do nothing? Think of this as temporary help. When you’re able, you can pay me back.”

Karina hesitated for what felt like an eternity before finally speaking, her voice trembling slightly.

“I owe the Stones a large sum of money. They’ve been pressuring me relentlessly. If I can pay it off, I’ll finally be free of their control. I still need... tens of thousands more.”

Wilfred gave a small nod.

“Tens of thousands isn’t a small amount, but it’s manageable. I can cover it for now, so you can focus on your work and your life.”

Tears welled up in Karina’s eyes as she looked at Wilfred with overwhelming gratitude. “Dr. Wilfred, I don’t even know how to thank you…”

Not long after he left, Karina’s phone buzzed. Pulling it out, she was startled to see a notification from her bank.

It was a transfer of a staggering amount that would cover her entire debt to the Stones. The sender? Wilfred.

Her hands trembled as she stared at the numbers on the screen. She fully understood the weight of this gesture.

Clutching her phone tightly, Karina inhaled deeply, as though bracing herself. She stood, straightened her clothes, and walked purposefully toward the manager’s office.

When she reached the door, she raised her hand to knock but stopped short.

The door was slightly ajar, leaving a small gap.

Through the opening, she caught sight of what was happening inside and she froze in place.
