Marshall stood by the door and didn’t choose to come in.
He felt like that he would just ruin the lively mood if he just barged in.
Katherine only saw Marshall when she was going to set the table in the dining room and didn’t know how long he had been standing there.
Katherine paused, “What are you doing here?”
Didn’t he just pack all his stuff and leave this morning?
Marshall then came in and ignored Kyle and Hector, “I forgot something here and want to pick it up.”
Katherine nodded, “You can check it upstairs then.”
Then she just went to the dining room. When Marshall went downstairs again, he was carrying the divorce certificate and settlement in his hand.
Kyle and Hector had served all the dishes in the dining table.
Kyle directly said to Marshall, “Come over, Marshall, we’re just about to get started. Join us. We prepared a lot today.”
Katherine glanced at Kyle and didn’t know what he was thinking about.
What was happening right now? Why did he act like that nothing had happened?
Marshall looked at Hector and smiled, “I’m good. I have to be somewhere. You guys can have fun.”
His last syllables were surly emphasized.
Katherine glanced at Marshall and didn’t say anything.
Marshall got on the car and just drove away, but he stopped after a few miles.
He lighted a smoke and looked at the direction of Katherine’s house from the rear-view mirror.
Katherine finally got the freedom she always wanted. She was much merrier than before.
After finishing the cigarette, Marshall saw no movement from Katherine’s house and just started driving.
He actually had no place to go right now and just returned back to the mansion.
Khalid hadn’t come back yet and was probably engaging in social activities, but judging from all the cars in the parking lot, the other three Grants had come back.
Lucas was standing by his car in the parking lot.
He was holding a cigarette stub in his hand.
Seeing that Marshall’s car had parked in, Lucas threw the stub away and looked at Marshall’s direction.
After getting out of the car, Marshall glanced at Lucas and said, “What? Do you want to talk to me?”
Lucas smiled, “Well, I didn’t before. But now I see you, I do want to have a chat with you.”
Lucas looked gentle, “So you had long divorced with Katherine.”
Marshall remained silent and just stared at Lucas.
Lucas continued, “I saw the untouched photo of your divorce paper. You changed the date.”
Marshall frowned, “Where did you see it?”
Lucas smiled, “The Hendersons came over today. You can well have a guess where did I see it.”
Marshall asked sternly, “When did they come over?”
“Just a while ago, but they didn’t stay for too long. Uncle Khalid wasn’t at home and grandmother wouldn’t meet them, so they just talked to auntie Frances. I bumped into them when they left.”
Then Marshall just turned around and headed to the main building, while Lucas just gazed at his back.
Marshall entered the living room and didn’t see Mrs. Grant.
He thought for a while and headed upstairs.
Then he saw Mrs. Grant carrying a suitcase when he just reached the stairs.
Khalid heaved a sigh, “It’s not like that, Marshall. I’m just too tired all these years.
Marshall paused and didn’t say anything.
Compared to the low atmosphere in the Grants, Katherine’s house was really bubbling up.
Kyle was really good at lightening up the mood and can talk anything.
He mentioned that his sister Rosalie specialized in investment and also invested on the showbiz, so he learned about a lot of scoops.
He even said a few to Katherine, but Katherine really didn’t pay attention to the entertainment that much and really didn’t know what he was talking about, so she just laughed.
Kyle had bought the beer and the three each had opened a bottle.
Katherine even took a photo of them and posted it on her moments.
Kyle grinned, “Good for you, Katherine. You are posting it yourself and I don’t even have to force you.”
Hector thought for a while and posted too. Kyle followed suit.
Katherine got Peter’s comment when she just sent it out successfully, “How come that you even have the mood to enjoy hotpot?”
Katherine found it hilarious and replied, “Or what?”
Peter then just send her a voice message. Katherine directly put it on speaker.
His voice sounded protective of Marshall and was mainly saying that Marshall hadn’t eaten all day and was troubled because the stuff online.
He even said that how come that she didn’t give a shit about what happened.
Peter’s tone sounded like she should have been upset too.
Katherine giggled and directly said, “Did I make it happen? I don’t think so. Why can’t I enjoy my life? It’s your boss who took Clara out and was busted. Why should I be blamed? He is also the one who released the divorce news. Don’t you make me feel like that I’m the evil guy here. I have nothing to do with your boss right now.”
While she just sent this audio, Peter sent her a phot of Marshall.
