News of Beckett Group and KS Group joining forces and amicably agreeing to collaborate on Project A5 spread across the entire country.
It was excellent news for Beckett Group, and KS Group's share price surged, hitting the daily limit.
Although Alyssa had stepped back from competing for Project A5, she still led KS Group in an impressive campaign. Her name became widely recognized, not only in Solana City but nationwide.
Yet her heart was heavy, and she felt no inclination to celebrate.
As the president of KS Group, she had not prioritized the company's interests. Instead, she had allowed personal motives to influence her decisions.
For Winston's sake, she couldn't refuse Justin's offer. Furthermore, in order to expose his schemes and reclaim everything Jasper had lost, she had no choice but to temporarily set aside the company's benefit.
Her goal was to infiltrate Justin's inner circle by gaining his trust, hoping he would lead her into the dark, filthy core of his business operations.
Even if Winston and Jasper failed to understand her choices, she was prepared to weather the storm.
To tear through the darkness, she had to immerse herself in it completely.
On the day Beckett Group officially secured Project A5, Justin called Alyssa. "Ms. Alyssa, would you be able to come over to Seaview Manor tonight for a small gathering? I'd like to invite you to dinner at home to celebrate our first victory."
Before she could respond, he added in a reassuring tone, "I know you'd rather not see my father. Don't worry, he won't be joining us tonight."
"You're overthinking it, Mr. Justin."
Alyssa's voice was as icy as her gaze. "I know Mr. Javier doesn't like me, but I've never held a grudge against him. I stopped caring a long time ago. So whether or not he's present, I still won't come for dinner. Thank you for the invitation, though."
In other words, she was rejecting the invitation because she didn't want to see Justin.
There was silence on the other end before Justin chuckled softly, his tone light, as if her refusal didn't bother him.
"I understand how you feel, Ms. Alyssa. But I hope you can put aside your concerns tonight and treat me like any other business partner.
