Called Off the Wedding, Left Him Bankrupt novel Chapter 366

A man who can cheat on two women at the same time could hardly be expected to have any real feelings for Cynthia.

She had no reason to worry that Benedict would suddenly switch sides.

...

Once Cynthia received the files that her assistant Frank had gathered, she called Dominic.

The phone rang for a long time with no answer. Just as she was about to hang up, the call finally connected.

Dominic’s deep voice came through the line.

“What is it?”

Cynthia acknowledged him with a soft “Mm,” then laid out her plan.

“Mr. Holloway, I already have evidence that Benedict has been embezzling the company’s investment funds. But the case against him isn’t airtight yet, so I’d like Holloway Enterprises to conduct a thorough audit of VistaSphere Group.”

Holloway Enterprises’ audit team was renowned across the country. And now that Dominic owned over seventy percent of VistaSphere Group’s shares, no one could stand in his way if he wanted to take a closer look at the books.

Cynthia gripped her phone, waiting in tense silence for his reply. But all she got was more silence, leaving his stance a mystery.

Left with no choice, Cynthia continued,

“Mr. Holloway, once Benedict is exposed, the executives he brought in will panic and probably try to offload their shares in VistaSphere Group. At that point, my job here will be done.”

This time, Dominic responded—a low, almost mocking chuckle.

“So you’re that eager to leave VistaSphere Group? No attachment at all to the company you built from the ground up?”

Cynthia’s tone remained calm.

Janice, sensing someone’s gaze, looked up and saw Cynthia walking past her car.

She immediately got out and greeted her.

“Cynthia, heading out for a business meeting?”

Her eyes lingered on the briefcase in Cynthia’s hand, her smile polite and warm.

Cynthia stopped, glanced at her, and asked in return,

“What about you? Waiting for Benedict to get off work?”

She checked her watch, gave Janice a faint, inscrutable smile, and said,

“You might be waiting a while.”
