Called Off the Wedding, Left Him Bankrupt novel Chapter 349

Everyone in the room was left stunned by the sudden intrusion of this unfamiliar woman.

Father Benedict reacted instantly, springing up from his chair and yanking Giselle away, his eyes stormy with barely-contained fury.

“Who let you in here? What are you doing? Get out—right now!”

The students, seeing Benedict’s furious expression, immediately recalled the rumors they’d heard earlier. In that moment, they realized the woman grabbing Janice’s hair was the very person responsible for Benedict and Cynthia’s breakup.

But Giselle had no intention of leaving. Ever since Benedict had caused her to lose her child, she’d spiraled into a state of anxious desperation. She was too afraid to go after Cynthia directly, but that didn’t mean she wouldn’t take her anger out on others.

Once she learned that Benedict had been ignoring her lately because of Janice, she wasn’t about to let Janice off the hook.

Cynthia quietly shifted her seat further away, putting as much distance as possible between herself and the chaos, just in case the fighting got out of hand and she was caught in the crossfire.

Giselle had gripped Janice’s hair with every ounce of strength she had. Even after Benedict managed to pull her away, Giselle still came away with a fistful of Janice’s hair clenched in her palm.

Janice covered her aching scalp, sobbing helplessly in the arms of a close friend.

Giselle spat in Janice’s direction, her face twisted with malice.

“You’re the real whore here!” she sneered. “Hiding away in the shadows, sneaking scraps—do you dare look me in the eye and say you and Ben have nothing going on?”

By the time Giselle screamed the last sentence, her voice was ringing through the entire room. Every word landed sharp and clear in the ears of everyone present.

The classmates who had been about to shove Giselle out stopped in their tracks, uncertain now what to do.

Benedict’s breath caught. He whipped his head around to look at Cynthia.

“Cynthia, don’t listen to her. She’s lost her mind—there’s nothing going on between me and Janice, I—”

Cynthia cut him off, her tone cool and detached. “What does it matter to me? We’re already over. Even if you and Janice are together, I wish you both well.”

Giselle bristled at Cynthia’s words, her eyes flashing with mania.

“You really think they only got together after your breakup?” she shrieked. “They’ve been seeing each other for ages. I’ve got proof!”

With that, Giselle fumbled for her phone, ready to pull up the evidence.
