Evelyn froze, her eyes widening as she stared at Natalie. "What are you talking about? Being used? Ungrateful? Natalie, you're a murderer! What right do you have to say that to me?"
Natalie remained silent. Evelyn was smart, she thought, but she was still being used. Sophia was a master manipulator.
"Evelyn Carrington, when you compare your mother and Sophia, you know deep down who's really hurting you. You're just so infatuated with the outside world that you resent your mother's strictness."
"You think you've found a safe harbor, so go on and enjoy it."
But Sophia was anything but a safe harbor.
It was the beginning of Evelyn Carrington's nightmare.
Natalie also believed that given Mrs. Wilson's personality, she might make a decision Natalie hadn't anticipated, but that was none of her business. All she needed to do was prove her own innocence.
She'd been dealing with Joanna's antics lately and hadn't had a moment's peace. She had finally gotten a chance to relax, only to run into Sebastian.
Inside the station, Natalie saw the same officer who had helped her before. Mr. Wilson was there too.
Reporters from various media outlets were crowded by the door.
When Mr. Wilson saw Natalie, his eyes were bloodshot with rage, and he looked like he wanted to strangle her.
"Natalie, you killed my wife! I want you to pay for her life! How could you be so cruel? My children are still young, why did you have to kill her? Over such a small thing, you actually killed her!"
"Natalie, are you even human?"
Hearing his hysterical shouts, Natalie smiled calmly. "Mr. Wilson, why are you so agitated? Are you really sure I killed your wife, and that you didn't tie her up in the basement and let her freeze to death before getting rid of the body?"
"Finding my clothes proves I'm a killer? But I just discovered my clothes were stolen, and the thief has been found. Are you sure you want to keep trying to frame me?"
What an idiot. His story was full of holes. He was nothing but a clown making a scene.
