Joanna was a little surprised to see Mr. Scott coming over himself. If she hadn’t been able to clear her name today, her collaboration with him would have been over.
Mr. Scott’s arrival would only boost her fame even further.
Natalie had always been her stepping stone.
Thankfully, there were still media nearby to capture the moment Mr. Scott came to pick her up. She was about to hit it big.
This Natalie was still as foolish and easy to manipulate as ever.
Joanna was ecstatic.
“Mr. Scott, thank you for coming. I appreciate you making the trip,” Joanna said with a gentle smile. Seeing the smile in Mr. Scott’s eyes, she felt even more smug.
Mr. Scott’s smile was meaningful. “Joanna, as long as the misunderstanding between you and your sister is cleared up, everything will be fine. You’re sisters, there’s no need to make things so ugly.”
Natalie saw the way Mr. Scott’s eyes lit up when he looked at Joanna. It was a classic case of mutual interest, impossible to stop. She spoke first. “You’re right, Mr. Scott. Your name is legendary in the entertainment industry. It’s such an honor to finally meet you in person.”
“Don’t worry, those issues were just minor squabbles between us girls. It’s all sorted out now. My sister is so accomplished now; she could crush me with a single word. Naturally, I wouldn’t dare to oppose her. Since you’re here to pick her up, I’ll leave her in your hands.”
Joanna watched Natalie’s brilliant smile, which seemed to make the rest of the world fade away.
It was a beauty that cut to the bone, and Joanna was filled with jealousy.
Natalie’s passive-aggressive words, both elevating and demeaning her, made her blood boil.
Her sarcastic tone was infuriating, but she knew it was true—Natalie was exceptional, and she would never measure up.
