How could Colin not understand what she meant? She saw Nathan as useless now and wanted to use him to get rid of the man.
A cunning smile flickered in Colin’s eyes. "Joanna, how can you say that? You once said there’s nothing wrong with pursuing your dreams. And there’s certainly nothing wrong with pursuing your own love and happiness."
"Have you forgotten? When you first came back, you went looking for Sebastian. When you found out he had married Natalie, I tried to convince you to give up, but you said the same thing to me."
"You said, ‘Colin, what’s wrong with me pursuing my own happiness? It was Natalie who stole my love.’ But Joanna, you were the one who left because you saw Sebastian couldn't stand and was blind. You were afraid of marrying a blind man."
"So, what’s wrong with Nathan doing whatever it takes for his own love?"
Colin used Joanna’s own past words against her, and it made her roll her eyes in frustration.
Joanna also thought he was useless now and was planning to get rid of him.
If they could frame Natalie for Mrs. Wilson's murder, then Joanna could certainly frame him for Nathan’s.
He found the woman before him truly terrifying. His other brother was missing; they had reported it to the police, but there was no trace of him. The outlook was grim. And even staying by Joanna’s side, he hadn’t found any evidence.
Joanna was right. He really was useless. He couldn’t do anything right. Besides driving, he had no other skills. Lately, his mother had been teaching him how to read contracts and manage the company. She still cared about him and hadn't given up on him.
He felt like he had been reborn, absorbing new knowledge at a frantic pace every day.
Joanna looked at him with contempt. "Useless. You deserve to be useless for the rest of your life. After everything Nathan did to you all, you still respect him as your father?"
Colin feigned confusion. "Joanna, Dad was always the best to you. Why do you want me to get revenge on him? Isn't this the life you wanted? You planned for so long just so your family of three could be reunited. Now that you are, why do you want him dead?"
He grew more agitated as he spoke. Even if that man wanted them dead, it didn't change the fact that he was their biological father.
