Joanna's voice was sharp and cruel. "Natalie, don't be so impatient. You'll find out the day after tomorrow. Just try not to cry when you do."
Natalie fought to control her anger. "Fine! I'll be waiting. Whatever you're planning, your reputation is already in the gutter."
Furious, Natalie hung up. She looked at herself in the mirror, her beautiful eyes narrowed. Still gorgeous, she thought with a smirk.
She ran a hand through her long hair, flashing herself a stunning smile before turning on the shower.
But she had a pretty good idea of what Joanna was up to.
She thought about the news online, which claimed the baby in Joanna's womb was Robert's.
But Joanna had also said she was pregnant with Sebastian's child. So, one of those was true, and the other was a lie.
Joanna didn't love either man, so...?
When Sebastian pushed the door open, he heard the sound of running water from the bathroom. The light, clean scent of shower gel drifted out, and his mind instantly started to race.
He pressed a hand to his pounding heart, his gaze fixed on the blurred, elegant silhouette in the shower. He wanted Natalie.
When Joanna had been in his arms, he hadn't felt the slightest impulse.
But he was captivated by Natalie.
Sebastian took a deep breath and went downstairs to warm some milk for her.
Natalie had a habit of drinking a glass of milk before bed.
Unaware that Sebastian had been there, Natalie got out of the shower and began to dry her hair. It had gotten long, and it took quite a while to get it completely dry.
She put away the hair dryer, then took a tissue and knelt to clean up the hair that had fallen on the floor. After that, she used a mop to dry the wet floor.
She wiped down the sink before finally leaving the bathroom.
She was wearing a pink bathrobe, which made her freshly showered skin look even fairer. Her delicate features seemed softer than usual.
With her mind preoccupied, Natalie walked forward with her head down, running her fingers through her still-warm hair.
She liked to weave her fingers through her hair and massage her scalp, the simple motion feeling surprisingly effective at easing her tension.
Lost in thought, she walked straight into Sebastian's arms.
