Natalie was overwhelmed with sorrow, and tears began to stream down her face again.
On the other end, Wendy was also sobbing her heart out. Her face was pale as she lay on the bed, her chest heaving violently, her eyes filled with anguish and despair.
She was tormented by her poor judgment, for having disowned her own daughter.
She was in despair because her daughter would never forgive her. No matter what she did, her daughter no longer needed her.
"Aaaah!" Wendy trembled with a pain that wracked her entire body. She was breaking down. She had always been so rational, so how had things come to this?
In the small, dilapidated room, the wind rattled the old glass on the balcony.
"Mom, what's wrong?"
Colin Scott entered his mother's room, his heart aching at the sight of her.
Seeing her son, Wendy's tears fell anew.
She grabbed Colin's hand, her voice choked with sobs. "Colin, I was so foolish. I was blinded by love. If I had realized Nathan and Joanna's despicable schemes sooner, we wouldn't have ended up like this, and your sister wouldn't have disowned me."
"The last time I went to see her, I said such terrible things. Our boundless favoritism toward Joanna hurt her deeply. She'll never be able to forgive us."
Her Natalie would never forgive her.
In the past, whenever Natalie was wronged, she would just bite her lip and say nothing, because no one was willing to listen to her side of the story.
Even that jerk Sebastian refused to believe her.
The moment Joanna cried or threw a tantrum, everyone would flock to her side.
