Natalie explained as she drove, holding nothing back this time.
She didn’t want to shortchange herself anymore. She had done the work, and she wanted Sebastian to know it.
Why should she keep silent about her own accomplishments?
It was all her work. Why let a woman like Joanna take the credit?
“You know, sometimes I think you people are incredibly foolish,” she said. “You judged me from the start. I was always on the defensive, yet you blamed me for everything. So, do you understand now why I insist on a divorce? The chasm between us is filled with too many things to ever be bridged.”
Natalie was trying to communicate with him calmly.
She had no intention of seeking revenge on Sebastian; she wasn't that tired of living.
On this point, Sebastian had no grounds to argue.
Seeing his silence, Natalie declared with a flourish, “Sebastian, from now on, I’d rather break a man’s heart than let one break mine.”
“So, just accept your exit gracefully and go live happily ever after with your first love.”
Sebastian watched her bright, carefree smile. She had truly let go.
His face remained grim, and he said nothing more.
When the car pulled up in front of the Spencer family villa, his expression darkened. “Natalie, you rushed out in the middle of the night just to see Marshall?”
Natalie nodded. “Yes. Mrs. Spencer Sr. said Marshall had a nightmare and it scared him, so she asked me to come check on him.”
Sebastian was incredulous.
His eyes blazed with anger. The esteemed young master of the Spencer family, frightened by a nightmare he had himself?
He didn't believe it for a second.
Natalie opened her door and got out. Sebastian quickly did the same, following her inside.
