“You little punk. Did you really think I couldn’t handle you? Now it’s Sebastian’s turn to be the sucker.”
Natalie laughed gleefully.
Her phone vibrated again. She picked it up and saw it was Queena.
“Queena, are you coming back tomorrow?” Natalie asked, her mood lifting instantly.
Queena laughed on the other end. “Natalie, I just landed a huge project. I have to delay my return by another week.”
“Oh.” Natalie’s happiness deflated. Why another delay? Was she short on money?
Remembering how Queena's father favored his adopted daughter, Natalie’s heart ached for her. “Queena, if you need money, just tell me.”
“I’m not short on money, Natalie, so don’t be sad,” Queena said cheerfully. “I’ll bring you back a present. By the way, I just saw the news. Joanna is Nathan’s biological daughter? That’s pretty explosive.”
Natalie was a bit surprised. “It seems like this scandal is bigger than I thought if even you heard about it all the way over there.”
Queena clarified, “I’m reading the domestic news, so I can still keep up. Are you okay?”
“I’m fine. Joanna called me earlier, accusing me of setting her up tonight. That little brat, her first instinct is to blame me for everything. The world’s gone mad. Sebastian and his crew have spoiled her so rotten that her shamelessness is truly on another level. But why should I have to put up with it?”
“Queena, Joanna is at a dead end now. Next up, it’s Sebastian’s turn to be the fool.”
Queena chuckled. “Hasn’t he always been her fool?”
“Yes, he’s always been her fool, but I think he’s about to become an even bigger one. Joanna hasn’t hit rock bottom yet, but she’s going to cling to Sebastian for dear life. If those two manage to have a baby someday, then he and I can finally get divorced.”
