Joanna laughed triumphantly.
Yvonne was horrified. “Joanna, you’re shameless! Do you believe I’ll tell Jerome everything?”
“That depends on whether you get the chance to tell him.”
Joanna hung up.
Yvonne collapsed to the floor.
Meanwhile…
Joanna stood outside the courthouse and saw Nathan and a sobbing Wendy emerge.
Annoyed, she called Horace.
“Horace, Yvonne has outlived her usefulness. Give the evidence to the police. Let the world know about that girl’s death.”
Horace replied, “Yes, miss. I’ll give the evidence to the deceased’s parents immediately. She won’t disrupt our plans.”
Joanna hung up the phone.
Wendy and Nathan had reached her. She looked at Wendy with a cold smile. “Stop crying. It’s not that my father doesn’t want you; it’s just that you’re so incompetent. As a woman, instead of managing the household properly, you handed the company over to my father to manage. You don’t know anything about business, and now the company is bankrupt with so many debts. How do you expect my father to pay them off for you?”
“Here’s a hundred thousand for you. Thanks for raising me all these years.”
Wendy stared at the divorce papers in her hand. With the Wilson family’s intervention, the divorce was finalized on the spot.
Perfect. The Wilson family. They were her greatest allies.
Wendy took the hundred thousand she offered and said mockingly, “Joanna, so you’re only worth a hundred thousand. You really are cheap!”
“Wendy, you…” Joanna was furious.
