Jared was furious. "Natalie, I'm saying this for your own good! You didn't even graduate from high school. Any design you create will just be questioned by everyone."
"You'll only end up embarrassing yourself, and us along with you."
Natalie felt her patience had reached its limit. "Jared, you dote on Joanna so much. Fine. Just wait until your wedding day and see who exactly Monica is—who arranged for her to be with you."
"And another thing, I am a designer who graduated from the M Institute, the top design school abroad. When I was graduating, you were still cramming for your college entrance exams. How would a fool like you even know what a genius is?"
After she finished speaking, Natalie hung up and blocked Jared's number.
She never wanted to hear that bastard's voice again. It was just too vile.
"Hello? Natalie, what do you mean by that? Explain yourself!"
There was no response from the phone. He looked down and saw the call had been disconnected. His face darkened with anger. Natalie had hung up on him again.
He tried calling her number several more times, only to find he'd been blocked.
"Hmph! Natalie, you're just jealous that I dote on Joanna. That's why you're saying these things."
Jared didn't believe a word Natalie said.
He treated Joanna so well. How could she possibly be plotting against him?
Jared scoffed, hailed a cab on the street, and left for his engagement.
Natalie, after hanging up, was still furious. Absolutely livid.
But she told herself it wasn't worth ruining her health over it. She took a deep breath and gazed out the window, her mood still gloomy.
Marshall had asked her to dinner at the Jade Tower.
When she arrived, Marshall told her he was in the underground parking garage.
He told her to come down and meet him, as they could take a private elevator directly to the top floor from there. Thinking it would be more convenient, she went straight to the garage level.
